rFactor 2 | How to choose the grid of cars for multi-class racing

Having an offline multiclass race can be great fun and useful for practicing your over taking and defending skills within a grid of differently paced machines.

Many new players of rFactor 2 may find it difficult to set up a multi-class race, choosing exactly the right number of A.I. cars in a certain class, exact skins and so on.

Using the add A.I. button will choose any car at random out of the opponents you have selected, allowing you no control over which cars and how many of them are chosen.

Find above a short video showing you how to choose the exact cars you want to race against from within the game, using the current UI quickly, and easily!

been looking for this info! thanks!

However i'm not an expert on the prototype cars and I wonder if there's any way to visualize which car or which class drives in front or behind of you?
I looked into simhub but configuring something like that didn't seem easy to do....

Thank you for this video, and also for the *Cough*. I am getting back into rFactor2 after a hiatus due to constant CTD/ BSOD happening in the past. Hopefully all is fixed now, and I can enjoy some racing again.
CTD/BSOD surely wasnt rF2 fault, pretty sure you have some flawed hardware

So is there a way to save the grid once it's set up to use at other tracks.

Not using replays

Use MAS2 to make 5kb "room mods" which you can customize cars, skins and track layouts, as far as I remember vehicles had a limit of 25 models that may have changed I have not tested. Tracks there is no limit but obviously the more you add to one mod will mean remaking them for content updates will take longer.

As I said earlier making a room mod the thread way requires a short replay of every combo you use, well combos you want to keep.

Making rfmod takes no longer is stored in packages folder and is under 100kb, I use 15 room mods and biggest is 71kb.

So by that alone using Mas2 is the obvious way to go as it uses
way less space then replays will.
My 15 room mods are under 1mb they have over 200 cars and 100 tracks, to do replays of all those combos ... lol no thank you

P.S. I don't buy into this "Mas2 is hard for some"
Monkey could do.

Sorry left out a important aspect.

Using Mas2 to make room mods they can be used for a "offline server"
Why would you do that ?
Well lets say you want to test 25 cars.
You make a room mod add the 25 cars and tracks you want to use.
Then you select only 1 skin per car model.
You make a server for 24AI + your car so you will have only 1 of each model car in garage so there is none of this adding and booting duplicate cars like thread way.
Okay so you run private server and join ( you can do this on 1 PC is not that hard to setup)
In room you will find a button to change cars so without reloading a track you can swap cars ! No other sim can do this, NONE !
So in one session you could drive all 25 cars set laps for each and when you go back to same car your lap times will be there ...hehehe
Even selecting another track you just click it to load without leaving room without trawling to the track you want.

That is what I call functionality ! ;)
