RaceRoom's latest content drop is happening tomorrow as the Porsche Pack launches and brings three different racing cars to the table. OverTake got the opportunity to try all three vehicles ahead of the pack's release, and René Buttler takes a closer look at the Porsches while answering your questions live on stream.

Two current-day Porsches and a vintage racing car make their debut in RaceRoom as part of the Porsche Pack: Not only do sim racers get the latest GT3 R model based on the current 911 (992) as raced in DTM and countless other GT3 series, but also the Carrera Cup car that will feature all liveries of the current Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland season.

Additionally, RaceRoom turns back the clock to 1987 with the Porsche 944 and the fitting Turbo Cup liveries of that year. One of the few front-engined Porsches, the 944 Turbo was not just used in its own single-model cup series, but also as a GT vehicle that many racers came to appreciate due to its driving stability and affordability - you will not find any aero to speak of on the 944 Turbo, though.

Your Thoughts

What do you think of the three racers after seeing them in action courtesy of OverTake's live stream? Which one are you looking forward to getting your hands on the most? Let us know in the comments below!

If they could only upgrade their graphic engine... they would easily become top 3 with their amazing sounds, top car setups screens, new FFB/Physics.
After returning to Raceroom after a 6 year break I was kinda shocked to see it hadn't changed visually, and it really shows. I don't know if it affects online use but the other night I threw a few Reshade shaders at the game and made a completely custom preset after just an hour or two of experimenting (see pics). It's by no means perfect but I just wanted to liven it up with a more vivid image while adding a few effects while also removing the games overly blue tint. There could already be decent Reshade presets out there but my point is that although a post-effect(s) solution isn't ideal compared to internal / in-engine, it seems to be the only way Raceroom will ever likely see any graphic improvement.

Still, looking forward to racing these new Porsches (tomorrow apparently)! :)

The team stated something will be done avout the graphic engine. Time was lost with GTR3 (which was supposed to experiment a new graphic engine that would benefeit to RRE) but the new owner of the game is going to give means to the developpers to find the right zngine. Obviously it won't be tomorrow but... patience... at least there is financial.support for it, and this was.a good.piece of news (search for RD's news of.the last few months).

Your reshade settings look great! Could you upload it?

I played RaceRoom long long time ago and yes, the graphics look outdated. So it was not just my impression.

Thank you for your kind comment and interest!

Yes I'll share it. I'm going through a busy couple of days and I'm tweaking this preset in what spare time I have, but it's very close to being worth uploading. It's coming along so nicely that I think it's worth a proper "mod release" so expect to see a dedicated mod page here on RD sometime over this weekend. I'll update this thread when that's done!

Cool! But tell me what track is this in the first screenshot with the Liqui Moly banners?
