vwtccrelease2.jpg

Eurosport and SimBin Studios are proud to announce V-WTCC, the Virtual World Touring Car Championship.
A unique motor sport concept combining the best out of two worlds: the FIA WTCC and the SimBin game RACE 07 online and on site.
During five semi-finals held at the European WTCC events, gamers will fight on site for a seat in the Grand Finale at the FIA WTCC race meeting in Monza.
Just like WTCC the virtual counterpart V-WTCC will be broadcast on Eurosport within the youth-oriented programme BUZZ.
Each round will kick off with an online pre-qualifying period and all current and future RACE 07 owners will have instant access from the game menu to the in-game registration for V-WTCC.
Make sure to stay tuned for more information about pre-qualifying and opening of the virtual paddock.

2008 Rounds 3 & 4: Puebla, Mexico

The Chevrolet-team expresses concerns over the coming World Touring Car Championship race at Puebla in Mexico. The race is being held at high altitude, something that Chevrolet-driver Alain Menu is concerned over.
"The race will be very interesting politically. The diesel cars will certainly have a big advantage in Mexico," said Menu.

According to the previous double BTCC-champion it is almost impossible to overtake the diesel-powered SEAT-cars because of driving tactics.

"The diesel-cars can go slowly through the corners and then just stamp on the gas at the exit and immediately take four or five car lengths," said Menu to Motorsport Aktuell.

Chevrolet Motorsport Boss Eric Néve agrees with Menu and feels that the balance between the petrol powered cars and diesel powered cars are out of line.

"We have to make our cars as good as possible. But it is very difficult as the regulations have not changed for the diesel cars and they are just too fast," said Néve.

Or chevy can try running diesels as wel.

I think it`s a development that can`t be stopt.
it`s to bad the sound is also gone with the diesels.

One thing is pretty clear, the Volkswagen Group diesel engines for motorsports are one step ahead of the rest. Leon at WTCC and Audi R8 at endurance series.

But hey! You can´t complain because there are faster cars than yours, as long as the rules admit that engines all the teams will be playing the same game.

I hope SimBin try to keep the equalety or the next year Race08, because next season here will be a Seat Leon Cup... :D

The team will be testing on april 15th and 16th during the official WTCC test at Valencia, with James Thompson behind the wheel of the Honda Accord. A month later they will be at the start of the third race of the season at the same track.

"We're working very hard to be competitive and reliable during our first weekend", Mauro Sipz, team boss of N-Technology, said. "We need to take the time that is needed to prepare the car. We hope our efforts pay off at Valencia

Build pictures of the S2000 Lada 110

The Russian Bears Lada-team will make its debut during the third World Touring Car Championship race at Valencia in Spain. Drivers will be Jaap van Lagen, winner of Megane Cup 2006, and Viktor Shapovalov. Currently the Russian Bears-team are building the two 110's in their workshop.

The car is, as we previously have reported, using an Opel-engine which, according to the team, is going to put out around 280 BHP.

The aerodynamics of the car is another strong point according to the team. The CW-value is 0.34 which is better compared to the Chevrolet Lacetti for example.

The official support from Lada for this project is limited according to team manager Maxim Maksimenko.

"We are an independent team, but have the chassis with the roll cages, some spare parts and technical support."

This a quite surreal from a British perspective as we've always considered Ladas to be a laughing stock of the motor world, just like the old Skodas :)

Yep mate but things change, now Skoda is a "normal" brand, with WRC cars, and much more respected :)

LADA and Skoda were cars made with other philosophy, but now the situation is other, the same happened to SEAT, which was making very simple cars during Spanish non-democratic period but now is open to international market and fighting for WTCC championship.

Cya!.

The car looks awesome, I really think WTCC needs more brands in, I won't like to see a SEAT vs BMW all the time in future, if that happen, it will be a step back for the championship.

Yeah but technically the modern Skodas are just VWs with a different badge :)

Andy

Yes this is thrue. Also Seat. A friend of me works in Martorell creating the shifters to Audi, Seat WV and Skoda.

I would like to know what engine is using this Lada...¿? :circuitzolder:
