2009 World Touring Car Championship

Yes that was a really not nice move by Seats there. Like F1, team orders must be banned in WTCC aswell in my opinion. :nono:

Also i'm sad for Ladas. Even they have an ugly car, their failures sadden me :(. Espicially for Thompson. Why is he racing for Lada ?! Instead of some other car which can finish the race ?

I hope Farfus will show those Seats's. Will be a great race to watch! :woop:

Yokohama Independents Trophy leader Tom Coronel feels that the final race of the year at Macau is going to be a lottery.
"The battle will be decided in Macau, the place that is famous for its casinos and gambling. To be honest I think this will also be a lottery," said Coronel.

"We must be patient there and calculate all the time in order to secure the title."

The flying dutchman had a strong weekend during the previous WTCC race in Japan where he did not expect to perform well.

"To be honest I expected to lose points this weekend, but we actually extended our lead a bit," said Coronel.

Coronel leads the independents championship with 30 points ahead of Félix Porteiro. But the Dutchman is not feeling secure.

"Despite my 30 points lead in the standings we are far from there as double points will be awarded for both races. It will be exciting," said Coronel.

Coronel will be driving his Seat with a new livery as he has found 2 new sponsors to help him close this years season to a hopefully glorious weekend.

I don't like the livery. Too standard and barely recognisable compared to his orange livery.. Also nothing makes clear he's Dutch except maybe that small strip orange and the red white and blue on the window.

But it's good he has several Dutch sponsors like TW Steel and Olympia. I wish Philips would back him so he finally could have a good seat in factory car. He's better than Gené for sure. And I think he can compete with Tarquini and Muller.

On the last WTCC weekend at Macau Nicola Larini announced that he will stop as active driver in the WTCC.
After 20 years of active motorsport the Italian says its time to spend time with his family.

His place will be taken by Yvan Muller who will be leaving the Seat factory team.
Who will take his place at Seat is not yet known.

A little bit strange as you would have expected that Gio would have been first candidate for the Chevy seeing his background in the BTCC.

Let's hope there is still WTCC next year to drive in anyways :(
