2070 super or 2080?

Would be interested to know o/c comparison. Given a higher power draw i.e. more heat, if the 2070 super may be quicker?
My go-to page for OC maximum is Guru3D. My cards never ran as high as they benched it but came pretty close so I know they really squeeze them to the limit.

Here are the two links to the MSI trio cards:
https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_geforce_rtx_2070_super_gaming_x_review,21.html

https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_geforce_rtx_2080_gaming_x_trio_review,29.html

Points "stock" vs max OC:
2070 super: 9890 to 10601
2080: 10657 to 11261

Stock difference: 7.2%
max OC diff: 5.7%

So they do get closer to each other when OC'ed but the 2080 will always be a little quicker it seems.

Did you even look at the gaming scores in your links ? The 2070 Super is clearly faster in games ! No one cares about synthetic benchmark scores .
The links and scores comparison was only about overclocking and there are no 1:1 gaming scores with the overclocked cards.
Of course different games might give different results. I thought I gave enough easy to access information in my posts for everyone to look for themselves on the other pages of the reviews.

But I'll let you do the job next time instead of wasting my time to get a negative comment and a disagree-vote.
Or maybe I'll post a let-me-google-this-for-you link next time...

Thanks everyone for taking the time to answer my post, there sure is a lot to digest :)
What are the prices for you?
The cards are basically identical with the 2080 having more theoretical speed but the 2070 super beating it in quite some games.
When overclocked the 2070 super seems to be better for gaming.
But overall you should simply choose a good brand with a good cooler and just the one you can get cheaper :)

I grabbed a used 2080 from Amazon for 550 GBP. Really happy with it. Certainly a lot more happy than I was with the 5700xt which is useless with Unreal engine, I returned it.

the £530 was for the "Scan" cant remember the 2070 super, better check that, EVGA super black.
The £540 was for a nearly new Gainward rtx2080 triple, but eBay gave me a £50 pay back thingy.
so that made it £490.:)

Yeah. I got a 2070 Super because I grabbed it with a voucher from overclockers which made it £465 (basically covered shipping). 2080s on ebay were going for around 500 pounds (slightly over) so it was like a 50 or 60 pound difference. I didn't think it was worth the difference since they are so close in performance (and mine OCs really well!).

Where are you getting those prices? I'm seeing £500 for the 2070 super and up over £600 for the 2080.
I got a Gigabyte 8GB Gaming OC on Amazon through their used Amazon Warehouse store. I just kept scanning for used offers until a good one turned up.

I have done that with loads of puter stuff. I think my EVGA 750w Gold PSU was a return. H80i was a return too. Saved nearly 80 quid on a returned Ergotron monitor arm through Amazon too. Also just bought a Corsair K70 Lux keyboard and M65 Pro mouse from Corair's used refurbished store for about 50-60 quid less than new for what are warrentied and essentially new items.
