adding laps

Does anyone have any idea why a track adds laps when hit the Esc key to get back to the garage?

This isn't a BTB track but i have a couple of them that do this, that i would to try and fix.

That's normal. The lap you were on effectively becomes an in-lap, and is thus counted towards your qualifying limit.

Yes, when you pull out of the pits and run a lap that is the out lap. Then you run a timed lap and then start a second timed lap, but you spin and hit the wall so you hit the Esc key. Your car is sent back to the garage and only one lap should count as the start of your second timed lap. The track is adding 3 laps extra to the number of laps you ran. So in stead of only showing 3 laps it shows 6, one with a time and the rest blank.
