Reiza Studios have revealed the future development plans for Automobilista 2 in their latest 'Development Roadmap' posting.

As many of you will already know, the full 'version 1' build of the much anticipated Automobilista 2 is set to release this March 2020. For those of us who backed the original Reiza Simracing Bonanza crowdfunding campaign above level 5, or purchased one of the many early access packs for the simulation - this Friday 28th will mark our first opportunity to lay hands on the new racing simulation from Reiza Studios.

With plenty of hunger from the community to learn more about what's in store both short and long term for the new title, Reiza Studios have released their latest roadmap posting giving gamers plenty of ideas about what we have to look forward to in the months ahead:

....

So it´s finally there! AMS2 Beta has now been released to Backers as we enter the final month of development before Automobilista 2 is officially release on March 31st - we are very excited to be able to share what we have been working on all this time
:)

In this final stretch we can finally begin sharing a little more not only about what the plans are for release, but also going forward - let´s get to it.

Beta Available - Proceed With Caution
So the first build of AMS2 Beta has been deployed - always a big satisfaction and relief to reach this milestone.

Although the gameplay, content and general functionality of the Beta builds should be pretty representative of what its release state will be like, the game is very evidently unfinished - there is a lot still to be a lot bolted on over the coming weeks.

With the imminent release of AMS2 Beta we´ve had a huge influx of new people through the AMS2 Early Backing Campaign over the past couple of weeks. While it´s great to see the interest in AMS2 - and the revenue boost this late in development is by no means unwelcome - we do want to stress that this is still an unfinished Game: there are bugs, compatibility issues with certain hardware, missing features and other such rough edges still to be ironed out. If you are looking for a seamless user experience we strongly recommend you hold out until March 31st when the game will be officially released.

Automobilista 2 FAQ
There's been a lot of questions posed over AMS2 development and we are finally at a point we feel we can offer reliable answers - check our AMS2 FAQ here. More will be added in the coming days.

Cars & Tracks - What's In So Far
Looking to give a bit more insight into the game and what it will feature, we have started this All Cars & Tracks topic showing all the content featuring in the current build of the game.

Please observe that the artwork illustrates cars and tracks which are present in the game now - not what there will be on release and beyond. We will continue to update it as we progress through the next BETA builds and continue on from release onwards.

Development Roadmap - To Release ad Beyond
As we´ve been regularly stressing in these dev updates, AMS2 is a long term project - the release next month will see development pick up even more pace as we enter and aggressive development plan that will see game updates along with new cars and tracks released in a monthly basis.

To give you all a glimpse of how things are going to pan out, here is what´s on store for the first 3 months following release:

AMS2 Roadmap.jpg

Upon release we hope to be in position to expand our public roadmap to cover the initial 6 months - that´s when things get really interesting
:)

We will continue to provide this foresight at least until the end of 2020 so users can have an idea about whats coming and when.- with the obvious caveat that roadmaps aren´t set in stone and things can always move around or change slightly.

Early Backer Campaign Wraps February 29th.

AMS 2 Header.jpg

As previously announced, the AMS2 Early Backing Campaign will close tomorrow 23:59 GMT. You will still be able to buy the combo of AMS2 + AMS2 Beta + AMS2 Season Pass for US$ 119.99 through our forum store, but the discounts for old backers and other perks from the EBC will no longer be included.

Pricing for the base game on relase has been confirmed @ US$49.99, bumped vs previously suggested US$ 39.99 as considerable additional base game content has now been confirmed.

In order to keep it a bit more affordable for early buyers, we have decided to launch AMS2 with a 20% discount over the first week from release, so at least for a little while the pricing will be inside the original plan.

That´s all for this month - it´s been a thrilling (and exhausting!) ride to this point and we are happy to finally be able to share with you a little more about where we are going with AMS2 - exciting times ahead!

Really? I never checked tbh, I just assumed even as a mini tintop it had headlights. Pity, night racing is fun!
They are stickers on some cars ! In AMS 1 they had "Magic" stickers but AMS 2 wont have the same stickers ! This is directly from the Boss amn and frankly im fine with it . Id rather have it as irl as possible in as many ways as possible .

"All cars that have actual headlights should have it operational - if they dont its a bug and youre welcome to report it.

if the car has no headlight, or a sticker for a headlight (as is the case with StockV8 for ex), then they wont work (unlike AMS1 where we offered “magical” stickers
:)
)"
On the forum .

Shaders help a lot in terms of lighting, but at the end of the day you will have the same blurry image with AC graphic engine. The quality of the image in AMS is far superior than AC, however AC has better lighting, and with additional shaders even more. But always the blur stays.
This is AC for me ATM ! This is my desktop wallpaper ;) AC looks really great , CM gave us TAA but cant seem to fix the X trees :( (image has been resized to fit here on RD)

When Reiza bring the new AA to AMS 2 we will finally have the true successor ;) Reiza will deliver the real deal ! And it wont take 2 years !!

I hope they bring back the VR Helmet Cam that Pcars2 had , that was the most immersive VR experience of any sim so far , although ACC tried but it makes you feel motion sick and it breaks into shards of pixel. Hope ACC can fix the motion issue in Helmet VR cam.

"blurry image" - anymore lies and untruths you got to say from yourself and another poster.
"Far Superior" It sounds like you like to just repeat what is generally wrong, rinse and repeat.

Yes, AMS is far superior and AC is a blurry mess :roflmao::roflmao:
Gotcha

Again, this isn't saying whos best, that was someone else injecting that. Its AMS2 might take two years to even get to this point. They had the chance, but it was their decision to release something thats far from even being 90% complete.
Blurry AC- AMS1 Superiority

Is it mods friendly by any chance?
Sorry, didn't see anything about that aspect yet, could have just missed it.

I wont finish with the rest of you missing the entire point. Just looking at your 2 screenshots makes me chuckle enough. You show a lifeless place with a car sitting in the grass with its headlights on.

Neat... Thats sure a game changer there. Way to show off the prowess of the AMS2 Alpha Beta.

Dude are you serious? I mean, really, are you serious?

You are comparing a beta, with what? A game that has been pushed to the limits of development from the devs, and then developed more and more from very competent modders?

Are you serious? And just because you can buy AC for few $, so more value for money?

Man, I spent hundreds of hours on AC, but let all those mods work together with good framerate and no stuttering is a clear pain in the ass.

Let's talk again at the end of development of AMS 2, atm your comparison is only useless no sense.

Any idea what new content the base game will have in the release, I mean stuff that wasn't in AMS 1? Right now this looks like an engine upgrade for 50 bucks.
This is the start ....as beta testers we know more but this is whats been made public so far ;)
Its definetly more than a paid engine upgrade but people can believe whatever they want ! Some will look past AMS 2 and miss out on something great thinking it is just AMS 1 in pretty paint , but they arent doing themselves any favors ;)

Not as serious as some saying that a beta, that didn't have to be pushed out for $50, is the second coming of Christ.

You are comparing a beta, with what?

Im not comparing anything to anything. My entire point from the begging was I had hoped we'd see, after all these months, monthly updates and ramping up the hype machine that what we'd see a lot more then what we see now. Many people say its bland, I'm not the only one saying that. And as someone else mentioned, theres so many things to be plugged in before launch that any chance of seeing anything graphically, significantly different is moot.

Which is a big disappointment. I swear many of you act like this is some new, start up title thats never been attempted and coming from a dev thats never made a sim, quite the opposite.

A game that has been pushed to the limits of development from the devs, and then developed more and more from very competent modders?

"More and more" wont happen because nobody can mod it. So its 100% a wait game from the studio.

Are you serious? And just because you can buy AC for few $, so more value for money?

Not quite as serious as you're getting ;) It has nothing to do with value or AC.

Man, I spent hundreds of hours on AC, but let all those mods work together with good framerate and no stuttering is a clear pain in the ass.

And thats a mistake you made that doesn't reflect the entirety of modded content and results in Assetto. Thats what you get, as many do, by downloading anything from anywhere, stick it in and wonder why some garbage, unoptimized track with a grid of 26 unoptimized garbage cars turned their PC into a wrecking ball.

Let's talk again at the end of development of AMS 2, atm your comparison is only useless no sense.

Sure. Look, Im buying it and plan on supporting it to its fullest. (I didn't get into the backers arena because I wanted to wait and drive a polished 1.0) I hope for the best for Reiza. Its just that - *** damn, it would have been kinda nice to get something and say, "wow, looking awesome, and this is just the beginning". After all, it was already delayed back in November.

If in fact, come the end of the month, that there is a big jump in a visuals, I'll gladly eat a king sized table of crow. So Reiza, heres hoping for the best.

Those are premium DLC packs, they won't be included in the $50 base game AFAIK.

@CreamyCornCob
Funny that just in the moment of you criticizing the looks of the current's state of game, I've been doing some reworks to sky and lighting :)
Keep in mind that things that you mention, don't require applying to each single track. I agree some work needs to be done on sky and also shader/rendering side, to suit our style of tracks. And some of the ideas we have about visuals still need implementing, but the heaviest amount of work has been done, so even if the shader or lighting/climate gets an update, usually that doesn't need reworking or re-exporting the tracks. So those final things are often left for the last, while can have a dramatic effect on overall picture.

But also key thing here, is having a consistency in lighting. To have just one post process preset, that will work in all the conditions, so you don't have to manually adjust it.

No they don't. Most people like what they got and understand it is a beta. And some of them are doing amazing work reporting on all cars and tracks in a systematic manner. I wish I had the time to help the devs like that. Most things being reported are pretty minor.

This is a month to finetune some parameters and correct some minor glitches. If something really serious comes up, I am sure the devs will postpone the launch date.

Most of the more serious complaints I have seen come from user error including Force Feedback.
Reiza made a series of amazing topics for all major wheel manufactorers and models and a generic one detailing how to get the most out of the FFB and how to get your wheel rotation right, etc.

this is not plug and play yet.

For the unbolded bit, we have seen monthly updates, and ramping up of interest in the title. Reiza however is a tiny studio. You can't expect a marketing campaign like Codies F1 games. I actually think their marketing is quite good. You know what you are getting and this game will have more people playing it than the first. Which is great!
