Assetto Corsa already comes with a brilliant Formula 1 style car, as a step upgrade to the Lotus Exos T125 customer car, but that doesn't stop the hardcore racing fans from demanding a more up-to-date 2014 version of the pinnacle of openwheeler racing and F1ASR is delivering on that cry from the community.

F1SR modding team, that used to create state of the art mods for rFactor has transformed into F1ASR and with the help of new dedicated enthusiasts aiming to bring to sim racing the best free scratch build community content available.

Besides content for rFactor 2 the team is now also recreating the F1 2014 season complete with all in house 3D designed cars, audio, textures and physics. All content is solely created from the ground up by a team of around 30 artists and modders that have come forward from the sim racing community.

Besides the current F1 season the team has adopted another big challenge in bringing the popular GP2 series to Assetto Corsa as well with a lot of care for miniature details as the mod will come with 13 teams and 26 individual liveries as each driver in the team has a different sponsor package.

I tested the mod and I really liked it, though a found a bug on the steering wheel.
The wheel is supposed to turn 360 degrees total, correct?
At least on my case, the wheel turns about 80 degrees more and the animations reset, as shown in the video:
it does that on the t125 as well and all cars you just do not see it because it happens that fast

Some issues i noticed, while taking a corner and shifting up you get lose rear (a fix would be to change gears at the Rev Limit and its steady)

Starting from 0 KM/h from 1st gear with full throttle, it takes a few seconds untill the car starts to move.

Also im not sure about this, but GP2 cars should not be so understeery, tried different setups, and it feels more understeery than it should.

Esthetically: Front wing looks high off the ground ( as u would see in my video ), and Front Right tyres wiggles left and right, if u run slowly in 1st gear, you will notice it pretty much.

Keep up the good work:thumbsup:

P.S. No assists have been used

You can change the handle of the car drastically with setup changes, trust me. If the front is too high visually, you'll need to reduce the front ride height via suspension. At the same time the front wing will work better, and the aero balance will be a bit more oversteery.

It's better to start the setup changes from this setup attached than with the default one, which is not very efficient. If you still find it too understeery, make the rear antiroll bar stiffer, and the rear springs, or add front wing/reduce rear wing. Cambers and differentials are also important.

Opponents getting stuck in first gear is to do with the Auto Clutch issues I think.

A work around which will allow opponents to shift out of first gear is to navigate to the GP2 mod folder then the data folder and find a file called Drivetrain.ini in there you can change the MAX_RPM setting to 10000.

It's not really a fix as AI do then do some strange behaviour but it means they can get around and you can have a race. I'm sure the developers will release a proper fix at some point as this is only beta.

(AI now do about 1.45 at silverstone on 100%)

Still loving the mod great work guys!

Not a lot of cars are being released for Assetto Corsa, but there are a few. One of them including a highly worked on GP2 modification by Formula Corsa Modding.
This mod involves the follow-up series from the highlight of motorsports. Formula 1. It doesn't mean that it is easy to drive though. Due to this mod being developed with so much detail (it isn't even finished), this thing is scary to drive. Just so much power and downforce available, but if you step on that throttle you will go sideways.

Chargingcar, the project manage is trying to compress right now as I am writing this to get it to a reasonable file size so that we could share it here.
