The highly anticipated release of Assetto Corsa Competizione gets ever closer - with a new E3 special trailer reveal, and a promise of gameplay footage coming soon!

With the E3 event in America set to kick off in the very near future, Kunos Simulazioni have released the very first trailer for the upcoming Assetto Corsa Competizione racing simulation - the official racing title of the 2018 Blancpain GT Series...

Having been announced back in February to much enthusiasm from the sim racing community, this new title is not seen as a sequel to the hugely popular Assetto Corsa game, but more of a branching out by the Italian development team as they look to make use of the much sought after official licence for arguably the best GT3 racing series in the world - the Blancpain GT Series.

Notable as the first game from Kunos to make use of he powerful Unreal 4 engine, including weather and time of day features, the new game certainly looks like it has many of the ingredients to become an instant hit when it releases on Steam Early Access later this year.

As well as the launch trailer, Kunos have also confirmed the simulation will be playable at E3 on the Thrustmaster stand, so expect the next few days to contain some first footage from this highly anticipated racing simulation...

Assetto Corsa Competizione should be available on Steam Early Access Summer 2018.

I've been to E3 4 times and there are many reasons to expect delayed media. 1) the crowds are huge... it takes a long time to see what you want and to talk to people you want 2) I was there quite a while ago but I can imagine the internet is stretched massively with 50,000 people in a convention center. So uploading a video quickly takes a lot of prep work. Sites like IGN are staged several days prior and have a large staff. Sim sites will be walking around at the show alone with no real resources to upload until they get to their hotel that night.

The good thing is ACC will be located in one of the least crowded areas of the show and the lines should be relatively short at their booth. You should see the crowds at Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, EA etc.

That Thrustmaster setup is trying to simulate a space launch into orbit and not driving a car by the looks of that seating position. We need details on how it looks, feels, smells, etc...

IGN Italy has some direct capture video footage:
Looks amazing. Too bad I couldn't understand a word of what they said.
They talk about things we already know. Nothing special. The guy says that he tried three laps in Monza under normal circumstances and that the game is standalone from the Original AC... It will focus on GT3 Blancpain series with all the cars licensed. The biggest change is in the graphical engine, so the lighting on the circuit, shadows, trees are better. The game will feature weather, and day-night transition so we can race in the night with rain. He thinks that the game will give to its fans a great opportunity to try themselves in e-sport championships. I couldn't understand every single words because those italian guys are talking fckn fast. :) But hey... at last and at least we have some video footage.

From watching that IGN capture it looks pretty decent for pre alpha..one thing noticeable straight away for me though was the shadow effects. They still look pretty bad like they do in AC hopefully they will improve them. it would also be interesting to see a tv replay from ACC to see if it is able to compete with GT Sports really nice photo realistic quality

Italian here. Watched the video, the guy on the left who tried the game says the biggest difference he noticed compared to AC was in the track lighting (which is to be expected given the different engine) with darker shadows, but of course the setup of the rigs at the booth may have played a part in this. He also confirmed he was told by the devs the game will be available in early access this summer. He does not seem to be a hardcore simracer (he said cars in AC are hard to control..GT3s ha!), so he couldn't give any in-depth impressions.

Early days yet for the videos to start coming, more exciting to come no doubts later....
Seems to of added similar FM7 graphical vibrations (safety-net / wiper) in cockpit?

Some details here but most images are showing these points.
