Assetto Corsa Competizione will get its first public airing after E3 at Misano tomorrow, as Kunos Simulazioni take the upcoming title to the Blancpain GT Series for the first time...

Much anticipated since the game was first revealed as in the works by successful Italian development team Kunos back in February, ACC, the official videogame of the Blancpain GT Series, will be on site at the upcoming Misano round of the real world series this coming weekend for the public to try, marking another milestone in the development of the title prior to releasing on Steam Early Access later this summer.

Utilising the Unreal 4 graphics engine, an official licence for the epic Blancpain GT Series and featuring time of day and weather conditions for the first time in a simulation developed by Kunos, ACC isn't strictly the successor to the hugely popular Assetto Corsa, but more of a branching out by Kunos as they investigate new technologies such as the Unreal engine. The end result, a rather exceptional looking new title that features a full simulation of the most exciting GT3 racing championship anywhere in the world...

With the Misano round this weekend, and a promise of plenty of access to the title for members of the public, it wouldn't be a stretch to expect ACC isn't all that far away from coming to Steam Early Access, then we'll all get the chance to give it a try for ourselves...

Assetto Corsa Competizione should be available on Steam Early Access Summer 2018.

Really looking forward to this.
I haven't seen any mention of the missing manufacturers yet. Obviously the cars in-game are the ones they already had licensed in AC and I'm sure the others are in the works, but have Kunos officially mentioned the others yet? Bentley, Aston, Jaguar and the Gallardo REX?
All they've said is "official licensed teams, cars and drivers".

Hoping someone proves me wrong.

The problem with modern games is that they are all very beautiful in the screenshots. And in real - problems with antialiasing, shadows and shaders.
Well, we've seen 4 videos already, with full day/night cycle. Imo everything looks better/more cohesive/real than pCars 2 on videos, except some shadow/tree LOD popping. Was only really noticeable in Monza where trees come close to track.

Kunos promised that ACC will have a ranking system, so will it represent this system as it made in Blancpain, like Silver, ProAm etc? And the main curiosity for me: will Kunos stop at Blancpain or go further to other Endurance series? I heard some rumors about further expansions to other series.

There's most certainly going to be DLC, that's just part and parcel of gaming these days. They could certainly introduce more GT series into the game along with the extra tracks and cars needed, fairly easily. I just wonder how the Blancpain license would affect introducing other series and cars. The other series may be seen as competitors to Blancpain so that might restrict the possibilities a bit.

I've never played an early access title.
So we buy the game, get early access but what does that include usually?

Will it be a few cars/tracks and they gradually add more over time or is it a semi full release that serves to identify bugs and do fine tuning?

I also heared something about other SRO series - that'd be nice, BP Asia & British GT have a tidy bunch of GT4 cars too, and of course SRO handles the international GT4 also.

Of course none of that brings the Nurburgring, which there's going to be huge noise for :p a VLN sim would be pushing some limits with all those cars, though...

I can't remember now what we got with the EA for AC, but it was 3 or 4 tracks I think, and a handful of cars. Basically we'll get what's working so far. I think that all the content is from scratch so I don't think we can even use what's already in AC as a guide.

It was actually kind of exciting waiting for new content to come out. But AC was a different game, a new car could bring new features IE: Aero, or hybrid systems, or solid axles, etc.. Which isn't going to be as much of an issue because they're all GT cars this time around. So It could go something like just introducing hot lapping, to introducing multiplayer, to AI, to ranking system.
