AMS V1 Released.jpg

Reiza Studios have released an update for PC racing simulator Automobilista, completing the games Steam Early Access programme as Automobilista moves to a full version 1 retail release.

Beta backers of the sim have benefited from early access to new content throughout the development of AMS, and will no doubt testify to the outstanding experience provided by the new Formula Vintage series cars made publically available in V1. Based on 1967 and 1969 spec Grand Prix cars, the Formula Vintage series is the main new content to be found in version 1. As is standard practice now for Reiza, the new update brings an extensive list of fixes and updates to the current Early Access version.

Renato Simioni of Reiza Studios has also confirmed that despite leaving Early Access, the team in Brazil have by no means abandoned development of AMS. With a range of DLC packages due to be released in the weeks ahead, work continues to optimize and improve the title. Simioni stated on the Reiza forum "development doesn´t stop with v1.0 release... You could say it´s just the end of the beginning".

Some further important info regarding this release:
  • A new player profile is strongly recommended.
  • Replays from v0.9.8 and earlier may not be compatible with v1.0
  • Mods might need to be updated - specially mods that are in the REIZA28 - REIZA35 range as those slots have been reserved for official content as well (modsin that range won´t show up in menu).

"Beta backers of the sim have benefited from early access to new content throughout the development of AMS"

It's more like the public has benefited from the beta backers testing and reporting the bugs to make the public releases better. :)

Congratulations to Reiza. This is, in my humble opinion, the best sim to get if you are looking for a complete package and worthwile experience without hours of tinkering with settings and mods. In fact, it seems to be the first complete sim since GTR2/Race 07 days so I am doubly impressed.

Also, big thumbs up for this:
Added missing championship configuration options
Being able to configure your own in-game championships is something really nice if you want to race niche content and can't find an online league.

EDIT: I've just purchased the season pass through Steam. Great price even for the first DLC, let alone access to BETA and other content down the line.

Where can I find the complete list of planned DLC's? Sorry, couldn't find it. Want to check them out as I'm deciding on whether to upgrade membership if I'd be interested in the releases. TIA.

The Brit Pack is the next major DLC (planned release some time late Sept.) containing Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Cadwell Park, Ultima GTR, MCR Sports 2000, and several Caterham models.

That aside, here's what's been teased for further updates:
Venues:
Imola/ITALY (historical & modern variants) (Already confirmed)
Hockenheim/GERMANY (historical & modern variants)
Hillclimb rally stage (Pikes Peak based) /US

Cars:
Truck Racing -based on contents from Formula Truck 2013 (free for those who already own that)
Aussie Racing Car
Divisão 3 (Historical brazilian touring car series)
Group B Rally car

And they're saying there'll probably be a few other bits and bobs added to that list, but nothing confirmed yet.
All depends on how well the DLCs are selling, I suppose.

The update went without a hitch here.
It actually did two updates...the main one and then on restarting Steam, it did a very small one.
I went into the Steam\steamapps\common\Automobilista\UserData folder and deleted the named profile.
Restarted Steam and reconfigured Automobilista...including the video settings. It runs like a champ.
It's worth every penny.
Running a full field of classic F1 cars at Montreal Classic and getting 115-120 fps... smooth as glass...with all settings max.
