I wanted a really good set of earphones, after as much research as I could bear I picked Fiio FH7S. Wow!
For background, I use Hifiman Edition XS at home, Ifi DAC and Can zen signature V2. Astell & kern sr25 mkii streaming from Tidal. So I really wanted quality.
The FH7S really are very good, the 'too much bass' I'd read about isn't an issue due to using the balanced filters.
For portable DAC/CAN I ended up choosing the Fiio Q3 MQA, I found I didn't need more. I didn't expect a cheaper device to cope, saved me some money!
I can't be the only audiophile on RD, so I wanted to share. It's difficult to find relevant reviews from real people!
