Big FPS dips during races: once per laps, per two laps

Arghhhh! I'm getting mysterious FPS drops in AC.

My usual/expected FPS with a grid of 16 is 90 to 105 FPS or something like that.

For the last four weeks though my FPS can dip down to the 50s three or four times during a ten-lap/twelve-lap race. It'll dip down to the 50s for about 20 seconds or so and then go back up.

I don't think this is anything to do with the CSP version or Sol version I have as I have changed versions around quite a bit and the problem persisted. And I have been using CSP and Sol for a long time now and it's been fine.

I've got a 1080ti, triples, and a CPU clocked at about 4.3 or 4.5.

Any tips? Thoughts? Suggestions?

There are big fps-drops during sunset, sunrise about 17:30 heavy.....sometimes 12:00-12:30 while using CSP. Could it be the reason for ya ?

Yes, could be, I guess. But I don't race at sunset much, more like 17:00 to 19:00, a bit before the time you'd think of as sunset (at this time of year)

And I've always raced at that time

The game looks best after 17h but unfortunately it hits obviously the GPU hard. I have also those drops.. and my GPU can be compared to yours (2070super).
