Formula One mid season testing gave us the first chance to check out the proposed 2019 style front wings... and damn they look big!

Teams and drivers have been busy testing over in Budapest recently, the first and only mid season testing of the year, and with it some teams took the opportunity to try out the new for 2019 front wing regulations... bolting on the bigger, wider, deeper and less complex designs as they attempt to correlate data from the wind tunnel out on circuit.

The new regulations, born of a desire to help drivers follow the car in front more closely, and thus aid overtaking, means that Formula One 2019 style is going to be a significantly different look affair than is the case this year, harking back somewhat to earlier times and removing much of the complexity of current aerodynamic trends.

With bigger and more robust looking front wings, potentially a move to much larger wheels and a general reduction in overall aerodynamics going forward, Formula One is very much heading into a period of change over the next few years, once again significantly altering the look of modern day Grand Prix racing cars...
