Decided to add an extra bearing, also finished another steering wheelYou're forgiven.
That seems quite a long steering shaft extension:
Thinking to minimize bearing stresses in AccuForce's less substantial (stepper) motor,
I did the opposite, instead cantilevering the motor.
Fortunately, after power-on calibration, that stepper is fairly quiet in operation;
sadly and thoroughly drowned out by its controller cooling fan.
Any appreciable difference in feel?an extra bearing
As you can image, due to the long axle I was getting a slight disrupting wobble. This was most noticeable when FFB was active, that effect has been greatly reduced with that extra bearing.Any appreciable difference in feel?
Wheel control arrangement looks decent for use in VR...
I have one too. Love it so far - folds away during the week and comes out on weekends when I switch my office desk over to racing! I use VR mostly for immersion via Quest 2 and link cable.I don't have the room for a permanent rig, so I used a fold-away Playseat Challenge combined with VR. It's a decent bit of kit for it's budget price, and although the frame is relatively thin and tubular, in a way this a good thing. It means that when my T300 vibrates over curbs or large bumps, I can actually feel it through the "car"! Could never go back to desk-mounted racing now.
