F1 2012 Copying the game

hi, I want to make a copy of F1 2012 to install a mod, then (as reported in previous thread http://www.racedepartment.com/forum/threads/mods-and-online-play.72401/#post-1493014)
rename the game I want to play to "F1 2012 and the original to F1 2012_or.
The problem is that when I launch the duplicated game it tells me " no possible because missing executable"
I don't understand where is the trouble.

Sounds like a broken shortcut, because of your re-named folders.

The game you want to play MUST have the folder name 'f1 2012', you cannot have a shortcut pointing to a folder with another name.

So in your Steam Install > steamapps > common folder you should have 2 folders.

f1 2012 <<<---- the standard game

f1 2012_mod <<<------ the modded game

When you want to play the modded game, you just change the name of the folders.

Rename the standard f1 2012 folder to f1 2012_std

Then rename the f1 2012_mod folder to f1 2012

Now it doesn't matter if you launch the game from a shortcut or from the Steam client, it will work.

The folder names I used above are optional, choose you own if you wish, BUT the name of the folder for the version of the game you want to play MUST be f1 2012.

now I got it. I was changing only the F1_2012 file and not the folder too.
