I have the same wheel-pedals-combination and i knew this problem from an old R3E-version (closed beta). But this issue was fixed many versions ago, and all should work just fine now with a GT3RS. No disconnect-problem here.
Like Andi said ...... try different USB-port (connect direct on mainboard port and not on PC front port) or use a powered USB-hub.
