With the release of F1 2018, I go through how to setup Vorpx and the in game settings, so you can play F1 2018 in a basic version of VR.

Try opentrack for headtracking. It feels more like real VR with opentrack and TrackIR emulation in game.

I am using opentrack, but have found out that if I turn off TrackIR in F1 2018 camera settings the cockpit is more usable
