F1C to rFactor car conversion question

Hi there people! Hope you're doing well.

I've been wanting to get into the mod scene for quite some time, and to get started I've been trying to convert some cars from a F1C mod, but I just can't even get the car into the game.

I've been following this tutorial:

And even though it's kinda clear, I can't get this to work. I tried copying rFactor file structure for cars, using a .gen and a.veh for reference, but it still won't work. The car won't even appear in the selection screen.

I usually learn by myself, watching tutorials and stuff, but I just can't find anything on this. I wouldn't be asking in that case.

Edit: I totally forgot, but this is strictly for personal use for learning purposes.
