Force India will continue to use the engine's for the big 2014 switch-over. Which will see the FIA reduce engine sizes to 1.6-litre V6 Turbo engines. Force India have been using Mercedes engines since 2009. Most of that time they have been in finishing in the points.

“Our new agreement with Mercedes-Benz for the coming years is the most significant in the history of Sahara Force India. With new powertrain regulations being introduced next year, I can’t think of a better partner to work with as Formula One enters a new and exciting era. The agreement gives us the long-term stability we require and will enable us to continue our journey towards the front of the Formula One grid.” Managing Director Dr Vijay Mallya told the FIA.

Meanwhile the new arrival at Mercedes, Toto Wolf praised the deal, saying "It was a significant milestone'. It signal's Mercedes' first long term contract for the 2014 season. Especially as McLaren are rumoured to be going to Honda engines in 2015.

“Sahara Force India was our first genuine customer in Formula One back in 2009 and we are delighted to enter an expanded, long-term relationship with them from 2014 onwards. This long-term agreement offers excellent value in terms of the balance between price and performance. We hope it will mean Mercedes-Benz and Sahara Force India working together for the entire life cycle of the new powertrain generation.” He said.

However, last race was a race to forget for the team. Having trouble in the pit stop's - the problem was a wheel gun, as they have changed the technology in them this year. Ultimately this led to both driver's retiring from the race. Which was a massive blow for the team, who have had a positive start to the 2013 season.

Force India currently sit in fifth place in the World Constructors' Championship.
