SEASON START!
Season 5 is now upon us, so lets take a quick look at the final additions to the calendar!

-Voted
Hungarian Grand Prix - Hungaroring (8 votes)
Making a return to the calendar after a season away, the Hungaroring continues to divide opinion to the worth of having it present, however with a strong Hungarian contingent of racers and teams, it's no wonder that it continues to pop up. It sneaks back into it's position towards the end of the European window of races, splitting the full length races at Germany and Belgium.

Malaysian Grand Prix - Sepang International Circuit (5 votes)
The night race at Sepang last season was clearly successful enough to warrant a second straight voting in to the calendar. The fast and flowing circuit is a handy follow up to the somewhat more restrictive Albert Park, allowing some of the more race orientated cars to show their worth.

Emirati Grand Prix - Dubai Autodrome (3 votes)
A low voting turnout was in the favour of the UAE, they'll return to the calendar for a second straight season, but this time it's Dubai winning the vote while Abu Dhabi has to make do with a meagre F1 race.. The pay is high and as such it'll be taking place at the pointy end of the season, however even with all the money they're spending, it'll only be Round 14 again that we see the race, the first as the series starts it's final flyaway rounds.

-Mod's Choice
United States Grand Prix - Watkins Glen International
For a country that doesn't exactly embrace the European-style open wheel series, the US GP has done mighty well for itself in FFG, this will be the 5th race in a row that we travel stateside as well as the 5th track that we've had to do so! Watkins Glen holds a near immortal status the world over, and now that we travel to arguably the home of American open wheel racing (that turns left and right), we may be nearing the end of our search for a more permanent home.

Spanish Grand Prix - Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
Barcelona, and indeed Spain itself, hasn't been seen on the calendar now since Season 1. As a result, the race makes a comeback this season, returning to the classic Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The long front straight should create passing chances, however it's position in the season could still see some quali pace cars holding on for a bit.

Portuguese Grand Prix - Autódromo Fernanda Pires da Silva (Estoril)
We've got the Spanish GP at Barcelona, it's only fair that it's brother over the border gets on as well. Estoril has generally polled well, but never enough to see it over the line. With veteran Rui Martins back for another season, the local fans are sure to be cheering him on as he targets his first win in FFG.

So here is how the calendar for S5 looks!

The Pre Season test and values have been sorted out, expect to see that article released tomorrow, and the marketplace will be open after that!

Nice now only good engine needed :D because lack of contract money :D
Yeah It will be interesting

may I ask why some races go for 100 percent while others go for 75 percent?
It's just something that's gone hand in hand with the planning of the series. Slightly shorter races mean that the videos are easier to watch, the race is easier to commentate, there is less time for cars to retire etc.
However, some races are given a bit more importance, obviously the first and last races, and a handful of European races that are legendary in their own rights. Giving them 100% race distance means that winning them is a true feat, as in those races there is more chance of problems occurring and such.
Overall it provides a bit more for teams to think about, and for drivers to aim for and enjoy winning.

UTZER LEADS BRT RETURN
Pre Season Results.png

Ben Utzer impressed on his return to the BRT with a fine lap of Silverstone in the new Renault powered BRT03. However, the test also shows a close start to the season in Melbourne is a given, with the top 7 all different makes and within 2 tenths of a second.
Jordan Bradford impressed on his first FFG drive, taking his Falcon around to just trail the German veteran, no doubt it's encouraging for team boss Mark Lintner. Manolis Sigoulakis and James McNamara were again side by side in 3rd and 4th, but for the first time since S2 they line up in different cars, Sigoulakis taking the cake in his ART-Porsche over McNamara's 2KF1. Daniel Harvey took his DTK-Renault to 5th, before Carlos Rodriguez drove his own car to 6th, a feat we've not seen since S1 and the days of Keranen, Lintner, Poirier, Noack and Neron all thrashed their own cars around. He wasn't the only one, Matthew Allington and his FRT
were 16th running Peugeot engines.
Omer Said started life at Optima with 7th, while Damian Son was impressive in 8th in the second CRE. Another rookie in Hugo Rossello was 9th for Apex, and Tapio Rinneaho starts his quest for the title with 10th. The only T3 engines of the field, Aston Martins, powered the Keranen Motorsport cars of Dani and Engberink to 11th and 13th respectively, sandwiching the Optima of Rob Sharp. Andrea Dovizioso for Prifelli, Martins for 2KF1, the aforementioned Allington, Laskey for DTK, Bohner for BRT, rookies Luke Rosella in the second Prifelli and Chris Guardian in the FRT rounded out the top 20. In a surprising result, both of the Ravenwest-Audi cars lagged at the back of the field, Cornes just holding out his rookie teammate Joseph Wright.
The season is sure to promise some interesting decisions by teams and drivers as they battle to gain ascendancy. Judging from the base numbers alone, it would seem that Renault might well be the leading contender currently, holding a solid quali and race pace and the best COF bar Audi. Mercedes has the same performance, but does lack some COF. From T2 as well, Toyota and Porsche both have offered strong performance engines, but the COF isn't strong at all. Cosworth has a strong one lap, but is lacking over a distance. Honda would seem to have been the strongest choice in the field, however both Ravenwest (moving to Audi) and N-Tech (retired) were unable to use that engine. In tyre terms, Dunlop and Goodyear have offered strong tyres, while Hankook and Yokohama lag behind.

With that the season is ready to go! Here is the current budgets that I have:
Upgrades and Purchases.png

If you're in green, go for it, marketplace is open. If you're in red, it means I don't have your contract values and you're locked out until I get them. All teams have already had their engine contracts removed. For Fantastic and Challenger, you guys have yellow boxes as you haven't locked in your second driver choice. You're not required at this point to drive, however you should keep in mind you will have to if you can't find anyone by Sunday. Let me know how I can help (except 'please find me a driver', I wish it were that easy).

Any questions let me know. Any mistakes also let me know.
