Codemasters, the British development studio and the team behind the official Formula One franchise have confirmed a new F2P mobile racing game is in the works...

Titled Formula One Mobile Racing, the new game will be the first foray into the "Free to Play" mobile racing game space for Codemasters, and is set to represent a breakaway from the traditional mobile version of the official videogames found on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC each year.

Confirmed as something altogether different than has been previously released to mobile devices by Codemasters in years past, Formula One Mobile Racing will be "familiar to both F1 fans and free-to-play mobile gamers, but also offering some completely new features", according to new Codemasters Mobile Community Manager, Chris Groves.

“We’re delighted to bring an authentic F1 mobile game to the Free to Play audience for the first time,” said Vincent Meulle, Executive Producer, Codemasters.​

“Formula 1® has a huge global fan-base and this bespoke mobile game will allow us to engage with a far broader audience.”

Details are scant with regards to exactly what these exciting new features might look like, however it is expect that Formula One Mobile Racing will still contain the cars, teams, drivers and circuits of the 2018 Formula One season, as well as the rather cool opportunity for players to engage in a bit of customisation of their own... yes that's right, an official Formula One game that lets you customise something outside of the standard branding found in the real series!

"We are excited to bring a host of fresh, new features to the franchise including the ability to develop and customise your own F1 car for the first time.” added Meulle.​

Release dates and preview footage have yet to be revealed, however stay tuned to RaceDepartment for all the news as and when it becomes available...

Apart from Real Racing I haven't done much mobile gaming either, but i am not saying no to it. Could be a great gaming addition instead of spending 30 minutes of YouPooping on the toilet with my phone

With a soft launch in full flow, Codemasters and Eden Games have released yet more info on the new free to play mobile racing game - F1 Mobile Racing!

A new venture from Codemasters, F1 Mobile Racing will be a free to play racing title based on the 2018 Formula One season and available on iOS devices and Android. The new game is currently only available to iOS platforms residing in the Thailand and Philippines regions at present, as Codemasters continue to develop the new game and work through a soft launch ahead of a full public reveal later in the year.

A full launch, and more details about what the game will feature, including a later android release, are expected later on in the year.
