A jinx being like the dreaded 'commentators curse' of e.g. talking about how someone is doing well, to which they promptly do something out of character and do poorly.
that's just to expand upon what Rami said beforehand.

When i hear jinx all i think about is this:

Lintner wins season opener
Having taken pole position in the qualifying, Márk Lintner was able to convert the top grid spot to a win. Hunsley lost second at the start to Buurlage, and also had to let Poirier through. The Canadian was struggling with his heavier fueled car though, and quickly dropped down the order. Disaster for the Prosts in lap 2 when Ancevski's attempt to overtake teammate Wolf failed, and they both ended up in the gravel of turn 2, dropping to the end of the field.
Ben Herbert had some great first laps, managed to get in the top 10 by the end of lap 3. Same for Engberink, Foro, Keranen and Kederer, who too already gained a couple of places. Foro's race came to an early end however, when his engine blew up in lap 10. Utzer's race was over soon after as well, he crashed out in turn 6. Andy Black also didn't make it to the first round of stops, a water leak ended his race.
After the stops Martins was in the lead, as he was scheduled for one stop only. Lintner, Buurlage and Hunsley were close behind him, while Said in 5th had a bigger gap. 4th retirement of the day then when Engberink suffered an engine failure. Lintner retook the lead from Martins, who dropped further back to 5th due to a slight mistake just before he pitted. Ancevski too retired with an engine failure. Shortly after the final round of pitstops started. Lintner kept his lead, and Hunsley wasn't that far behind.
Said and Laad were running in 3rd and 4th, however they both dropped out of the points when a failed overtaking attempt by Laad sent them both into a spin. Buurlage could retake 3rd, with Martins in 4th now. Herbert and Kederer now also in the points, they both had worked up quite a bit from their starting positions. At the front Lintner controlled the race and the gap to Hunsley, taking his first win since 1991.

FIA Press Conference
@Márk Lintner: Any better way to start the season?
@Jack Hunsley: Did the rather poor start cost you a possible win today?
@Lesley Buurlage: Strong debut for your new team, was it easy to adjust to the new surroundings?
