greyed out on multiplayer servers

bought the game yesterday and loving it!! I can connect to mp servers but once in I am greyed out at the bottom of the server list and pressing the green button does nothing. Won't let me out on track. This even happens when i create my own room so i am stumped.

any help would be appreciated

You can't run with your own Skin on a server that doesn't have it.
If you want your Skin on a server, choose a team, RCM motorsport for instance.
Create a folder "skins" inside it. Put ALL your .dds into it (.veh not needed).
Then launch the the game, go to showroom and click on your dds body file.

You might have the "spectator" option selected. De-select it and try again. Big change you are able to go on track.

yeah i had enabled the spectator mode not realising its permanent!! thanx for the help
