F1 2016 Help with save and exit session commands

Hello to everybody.
I have a big and perhaps silly problem. When in a specific session from a race weekend, I cannot exit from the session I am in, saving the situation in order to continue later.
How can I save the session and exit to the main menu?

[PC] as far as I know, esc button, then twice F6 and then save and exit
