How does the Rating work?

Hello,

I am new in simracing and I am playing RaceRoom.
I am playing Rankeds in rookie and yesterday I played one race where my rating dropped -24.693 and I don't know why.

The stats of the race are:

Start Pos. #22 / Finish Pos. #20 / Incidents 3 / Drivers 24 / Rating -24.693 / Rep. +2.503 / Consistency 98%

Why the rating drop??

When a lot of drivers with worse rating than you finish in front of you, your rating will drop.

It's a rating system, not a points system. You don't "earn" points which then sit at a static level until you earn more. You gain or lose rating based on your overall performance, so that it gives an indication of your ability compared to other people using the same system.

So if you come 20th in a race then of course your rating is more likely to drop than increase, and the amount it drops will be based on the rating of those who are in front of you.
