How to get rid of videos on sidebar?

So I visit the site again after a little while to find the right hand side of the screen is a bar of video links. It squishes up my pages in a way I don't like (change and I seriously don't get along).

Since I don't watch anything on RD, is there a way I can get rid of them? Or is this yet another "it's permanent and you are going to like it!" sort of thing?

If it squishes up your page please add a screenshot how that looks. It's set to disappear below a certain width.

It doesn't look right when there's nothing on the right side. The main post should be across that entire side.

Yes we used to have a choice left or right but that's disappeared.

Fyi, on a normal monitor screen the width of the main column is exactly the same as it has been for the last twelve months: 728px. You just got an additional extra 320px on the right side.

you click the little X to close it. I believe it is on the top right.

I am a big believer in the fact that if you don't pay or contribute to something, well you can't complain about it. Just my opinion.
