How to get started?

I'm looking at this game, tried the demo. It looks nifty enough for me to get it but there seems to be expansions and whatnot and I am confused

So what's needed to get started on this series and what's the different expansion sets?

Race 07 is the actual base game, so that's enough to get you started. GTR Evo, STCC and Race On are expansions. All are available via download from Steam, either individually or in various bundles. If you have plans to start racing online here at RD, then I would suggest getting all of the expansions, as they will be required for many of the events held here.
