Is anyone else having issues with using 5.1 Surround Sound?

So, I bought me a new speaker setup and I'm really happy with it. Everything works as it should, except for Assetto Corsa. Specific: The exterior view. The cars are way to quiet in the distance but then blow my ears away when they get in a about 30m radius. Can anyone tell me how I can counter this problem?
