Log in screen at startup

So, I load r3e from steam, it loads while I read my novel, then jumps to the start screen and before i can "hit any key to continue", a log in screen appears telling me i must sign in and my account can not be disassociated from steam? Huh? no log in works, not steam, forums, r3e i even tried my rf2 login, nothing lets me get to the garage. Any body experience this? I'm getting rusty sitting here trying to get into a car. Help.....

I think I've had this happen before, and IIRC if I just hit "cancel" it would move past it and let me play the game. No guarantees, but it's worth a try.

I also see this screen; sometimes yes, sometimes no. All very random.
