Logitech G27 Potentiometer problem :/

hey everyone :)

i bought a g27 that was pre owned, the clutch wasn't working as the previous owner told me. i thought i could fix it, he told me he opened it up and he thought it was the pot. I have been searching for a while for a replacement and some people have said they bought these - https://www.digikey.ca/products/en?keywords=450d103f7 but of course sold out.

i found these- https://www.digikey.ca/products/en?keywords=p231-fd20br10k

they are the same spec as the other ones, anyways i ordered them and got them today. they fit in clutch bracket thingy just fine, but when i soldered the wires (in the same order as the OEM) i got nothing when i tried calibrating on my game. also once in a while when i turn the pot by hand and it's all connected, the wheel starts calibrating and spinning, also sometimes the green light on the shifter flickers and sometimes turns off and the pedals stop working and no power steering to the wheel unless i unplug the pot and re calibrate. i tried connecting the wires in different prongs but still nothing. alsooo when i sometimes turn the pot a bit i hear a slight hum coming from the wheel

very sorry for long post im really stuck and have been trying to get it going for a while now.

thanks

Yes, like Martin says, that sounds like it could be a short. I had a similarish problem recently. A short in my TH8a was causing some problems with my pedals.

I'd try disconnecting everything else connected that you can and see if it makes any difference to rule them out.

sorry for the late reply, should I maybe take some stuff apart and see if anything looking wrong inside? I might try disconnecting my shifter from the wheel and see if maybe there's a short there. I've had the shifter connected all the time why trying to figure this out. I also might try rewiring the pedals as well and buy a brand new DB9 plug just in case something wrong in the pedal wires. i tried opening up the connector that goes from the pedals to the wheel (i believe its a DB9 plug) and i destroyed the wires because there was hot glue covering the wires so I accidentally ripped the wires. anyone know of a proper diagram so can solder them back to a new plug? I keep finding very different diagrams floating around forums.
