Manual shifting issue

My shifters are assigned properly one wheel profile setting for paddle shifting and one wheel profile setting for stick shifting. The only way that I can get my paddle shifter or my stick shifter to work is if I first go to controller menu select auto shift , run one lap. I then exit out and go into controller menu and select shifting off go back to the garage and at that point my shifter which ever wheel profile I am using at that point works as it should.Once I exit out of race or practice and try to re- enter to race or practice I have to go thru the whole procedure to get shifters to work. Please help. Thank you.

I see in your avatar that you have a Fanatec wheel base and the shifter 1.5 sq. You can go to the Fanatec properties and assign the same button for both the paddle and the shifter. That way you don't need to change the profile. I hope it helps.

Thank you for responding, I actually have a osw direct drive wheel. Fanatec CS shifter and after market wheel with paddle shifter.

Oh, sorry. I saw the BMW wheel, I thought it was a fanatec base.
