I was working at trying to do this myself but was unsuccessful. I think putting up AI drivers' aggression has something do with them being quicker in a straight line... unless you changed something else that gave this effect?
 
Rear view shaky cam

Ive been having a mess with the settings that are turned off by default on the rear view cam.
Im posting it on here for so others can add it to there cam mods.
And mainly down to me being a lazy git :)

Using Mods Online

About modding, will modding affect online play? Like for example, will modded cameras be available online and would a modded damage amount be affected aswell? If so would it be bannable to run with modded files? I strongly suspect it but I'd like to be sure before I go do something stupid. :)
 
Visual mods like camera changes, fields of view, textures, logos etc. should be just fine.

Mods that change your grip levels, and some AI mods that have edited the database will just get you rejected from the lobby/game. No banning goes on.

In F1 2010 for example, there was a great AI mod that change the AI behaviour to be more competitive, and faster in corners. You couldn't use it online. But it came with an ONLINE switch, which would remove the mod, and replace the original files back in for online play.

There is also in the F1 2010 downloads, a mod manager (it works with F1 2011) which allows you to add/remove mods with a few clicks whenever you want to.

EDIT: I am not sure about 'damage mods', but I suspect that you can't use them online, other more knowledgeable people on here may know

Well, done some races with this mod, and the only difference I can see is that my Torro Rosso is being left behind even with KERS on and DRS open...
 
More mistakes

Hello everyone,

I am desperate for a Mod that will increase the number of mistakes that the AI will make and therefore bring out the safety car more. I have seen a mod that does this but possibly increases AI speed in a straight line as a consequence.

Increased damage sensitivity is a mod I like the look of also but wanted to see if someone could point me in the direction of something specific to getting more mistakes with AI and safety car out?

Hello, tried yesterday in career mode with one gp (china). 50% race. It is simply perfect !!
I just had a very exciting battle for 12 between my williams and teammate barrichello. The simple error will let him pass but not impossible to let him stay behind if i drive well.
The max speed was correct and it was difficult to battle when drs is on for the guy behind you but as it is in real f1.
Being behind and use drs and kers let me pass 12 again. :)

Don't have test it for the rest of the tracks but thanks alot !!

By the way, at the end, no safety car, just one puncture for me at 4 laps to go.. grrr ;)
Some mistakes for the ai and a gp like it is in real.
Great job !

I just now wait for a mod to change the lenght of the replays.. they are really too short. :(

I havent tried yet but does the dvd version allow you to install multiple instances of the game on one pc? Thinking I'd keep one vanilla for multiplayer and I could mod the other one to high heaven.
 
First of all thank you so much for increasing the AI... they are much more aggressive, but could you perhaps increase their mistakes and accidents?
Drove 3GPs with your mod, 30-50% distance and no DNF, or SC occures.
Would like to have more "rumble in the jungle" like in real GPs where some cars have a break down, accidents, or other forms of collision.
The second tip for improvement is, to get the ai just a little bit faster in profi modus in Training, or Qualis.. I'm always 2-4seconds in front driving my McLaren.

I'm not sure, but if it works as Gnu UK said for 2010 then I'm guessing it would work the same for 2011 seeing as its GFWL involved this year as well.

Try test it, apply a mod and try connect to a game, see what happends.
 
What I do is install game.

Then copy and paste the whole F12011 folder to another drive or different file and name it F1 2011.2.

You can then just send shortcuts to the desktop for each version and run them seperately.

The game will still be using the same game saves file etc etc.

I do it this way to test out MODS on one version and have the vanilla version to back up mistakes or play online with.
