Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
@HF2000
I raced the Audis few years ago on RD servers, while fun, these little Mazdas are in my eyes much better.tricky, and when you get it just right pretty fast..While i like the fact people are noticing im getting quicker there are also a few more quick guys @Axel Moebius @iTom @a_murel to name a few and gives me a good race when it all comes together for us...Its all about practice and learning set-ups,what does what with what..1 big tip is PSI..These are at there best 27psi....If anybody would like to ask for a few tips i,ll gladly help.......but....i cant give toooo much away.:D.:p.
The way I look at it is that the fast guys show us what it's possible to do. Then it's up to everyone to work out how to go as fast or faster. In the process we should all get faster and get some good racing as well.

I like the challenge and in the last year I have improved a lot through watching replays, discussing setups and getting tips (plus getting lots of laps).

Well, theres this idea floating around that we all sign a waver:

The winner agrees to " volontarily" make his setup public ;):)

After a few races the playing field should be leveled quite a bit.

MFG Carsten

How about the old DTM approach:

Winner 30KG´s

2nd 20KG´s

3rd 10KG´s

Finishing in the last third of the field, take out 10 KG´s.

Only a slight problem:
it´s a metric butt ton of work for Han.

And even then, I only could beat Allan with a Hummer.
( which I park on his Mazda 12 sec before race start )

Have to go Carsten
Í'm on it!

This is another track i don't like and it is not too fond of me, as shown in the past.
The mx5 is a nice drive here, but the circuit is just too technical for my abilities, so I have abandoned the 10 mm "paintbrush" ( Mx5 ) and gone for the 300mm paint roller, ie, the (Audi.)
Having said that, the Audi was difficult for me too, so perhaps it is VIR and I just don't mix well.

At least you will be ahead of all the Mazda :roflmao: (PS no offense intended, that's the very same reasoning I made when choosing the Audi after too many lonely races as last with the Mazda.. :) )

I think people generally put a lot too much stock in setups. You can get more or less my exact setup for basically every race (except the one at Avus, which was pretty specialised) by clicking the "default" button on the setup screen.

Other than that, for the vast majority of tracks the only adjustments are getting tyres to optimal PSI and sometimes bringing forwards the brake bias if the track is particularly tight.

The fastest way to improve in these cars is to forget about the setup and just practice. Practice being more aggressive on the brakes, on acceleration, in your lines in the corners. You'll gain a lot more time doing that than worrying about setup, which is really miniscule in cars like the MX5 and Audi TT.

I really like my setup bit, putting in lots of effort, I have certain goals in mind when I start my setup's. ( for me it is far more enjoyable than racing, racing gives me the WHY )
I need setup's to fill in and TRY and replace the blank spaces I lack.
But, and this is a big but, it is not unknown for me to go back to default and be quicker or as quick.
But, this is yet another big but, I don't at my age have the whole driver package in place, that I know because whoever reads this I have been your age.?? ( it take less time for me to lap a circuit than it does to bend down and pick something I dropped up ) :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:
But, yes another but, I totally agree with Chris, "driving" with sim's is where it is at, unlike the real world where when you have a certain ability, after that is in place, then so many other things can very easily dictate your track pace.:)
