A new update for My Summer Car is now available.

My Summer Car has received the update treatment today, with a brand new build release deployed to the curiously hilarious lifestyle simulation...

I enjoy living in a world where I can write about things that have update notes that include bus timetables... in an all too serious world, things like this have a nice way of making me smile. Which is, quite frankly, something overlooked in the average persons busy schedule.

Speaking of busy, stop reading my rambled scribbles and check out the update notes below...

My Summer Car Update Notes:
  • Adjusted and fixed Bus schedules and added timetables at the bus stops
  • Car doors will now lock to open position when opened to full angle
  • Shopping bag contents are now being saved, no more exploding open during load!
  • Racing Muffler can be now spray painted

Can you start using experimental branch, because basically everyone knew of this update 2 months ago.

I want to try the game really, I somehow like the gameplay, but I've seen that you can only drive two cars, the van and maybe a truck? While the new rally cars, like the MkII Escort and the KP60 Starlet are unplayable... someone correct me if I'm wrong (and trust me I would be gladly wrong, as having those two cars would be incredible).

I would refund(just kidding) dirt 2 for Mk II in MSC :p but there is hope for My Winter Car and I`v read someware about possible RWD(this time I`m not kidding), with MSC my hopes were allways high and was allways satisfied, it Was my first real simmulator before AC etc. hahaha

Simulator, yes, but not racing simulator. More of a Finnish rube simulator. If you think MSC is a racing game, you've got it all wrong. There is a rally race in the game, but you'll be chopping firewood, driving a tractor, pumping sewage, and trying to avoid the 1,000 ways the game tries to kill you far more than you'll be racing. That being said, there are mods that allow you to change your car with different drivetrains, gearing, power, etc., and you can get cheat mods to avoid the non-racing stuff if you want (but why would you?).

Just to give you a flavor of the game, here's a short log from Day 1 of a new game I started when this update dropped:
Day 1 goal: Steal the Ruscko (because you really need a car to make progress in this game)
First attempt: Put a case of beer and the motorcycle in the boat, drop a pizza in the lake, get halfway across the lake and realize I forgot the toolset (the screwdriver is needed to turn the Ruscko's ignition). (Quit to Menu)
Second attempt: Scratch the boat idea, just ride the motorcycle. Put the toolset on the motorcycle's cargo rack (yay!) and head out. Go too fast on the dirt road heading away from my house, catch some wicked air off a bump straight into a tree, and die. (Alt-F4)
Third attempt: Try to get on the motorcycle, which glitches and vanishes. (Quit to Menu)
Fourth attempt: Success! Stop at the turnoff at the Pigman's house, and get knocked over by the crazy green car while dropping the toolset (luckily survive the attack). Drive to town (along the way, avoid a head-on collision with the green car) to buy a fire extinguisher, groceries, cigs, and car supplies. Save a few times to advance game time past 8 PM. Take the fire extinguisher back to the Pigman's house and spray the wasp nest in the Ruscko to kill the wasps (they are asleep after 8 PM). Start the car, no angry wasps, yay. Put the motorcycle, fire extinguisher, and toolset in the back of the car and head back to town. Coast into town on fumes (note to self, take the jerry can next time). Push the car to the gas pump, put the motorcycle on the car's roof rack, load my stuff into the back of the car, and sleep in the back of the car. In the morning, wait for the shop to open, fill up the gas tank, and head home to start assembling the Satsuma (until I get a call to deliver a load of firewood or take fish to Grandma).
