PC Upgrade advice needed

I've been having PC freezes quite a lot lately with WIN 10, that and my rig is getting pretty long in the tooth lately. See below:

PSU ANTEC|650W EA650 RT

CPU INTEL|CORE I5 2500K 3.3G 6M R

ASUS XONAR DG 5.1 CHANNELS PCI INTERFACE SOUND CARD

I'll probably keep most of the hardware except the Motherboard and CPU. What would you suggest for a good Motherboard and CPU considering I won't do any overclocking, and I want the same size motherboard, and room for my CPU cooler If I can still use it ?
Doesn't have to be the latest and greatest, and want to stay with Intel.

I would read this website... Ari is excellent. Almost always answers your questions himself. The personal touch that 'PC Parts Picker' doesn't really do, imo.

You will need to get memory as well, both AMD and Intel now use DDR4 ( you have DDR3 )
Also today you want more then 8GB memory

P.S. I never recommended anything as I don't see the point of upgrading if you keep existing GPU
I had 2500K and with GTX460 then GTX460 Sli I hosted rFactor2 online for years
