Here is my race report!
Quali: went well, finally I was at pace, but made a mistake in my fastest lap, so I only took 4th
Race1: Very nice and hard fight, all of us made mistakes, the first I did was during the fight with Marty at the beginning, and I hit the wall there. Once Matt hit me, but np. We had a very nice battle with Yves and Matt, that lasted until the last lap, when I ran out of fuel in the back straight, and also Yves had fuel problems at the end of the lap. So I ended up 8th, which meant of course pole position on the second race:)
Race2: Yves had an incredible start and took p1 at the first corner! From 3rd row, now that's amazing! After that a battle started again, and joined by Matt a few laps later, when I made a mistake and hit the wall at the end of the lap. So again we had a battle, and I was in 3rd place for a while after my "wall trip". Then I saw Keith in my mirrors and started to worry:) He was way faster than anyone this time, congratulations! I was able to hold him for a few laps, but then he passed me! Then Yves made a mistake, so I overtook him. Then my goal was second place, the only thing I had to do is to overtake Matt, which wasn't an easy thing:) But he made a small mistake, and I took the opportunity to pass! Then I also made mistakes and things were getting really hot at the end, Matt was very close to me! But then I could take 2nd, and that was the best I could do this time!
Finished overall 4th with 8 points, and that's not bad!
Grats Keith for double win! And grats Mitchell on a very nice first race, and a draw with me on 4th place overall!:)

Thx for the race all! This was really hard and exciting!:)

  • Matt Alpeter

Dare I say this was my most exciting race ever??? WOW

Quali: Did pretty well with my pb of 2:18 something, which was nearly 3secs off Keith, but competitive with everyone else.

Race 1: Had a bad launch and hit 2nd too soon, and fell back to 6th. Had some close racing with Corey, but out-braked him and moved into 5th behind Peter, who put up many AWESOME fights! Followed him for a few laps, then got way out of shape at the last corner and spun him. He recovered quickly and we were back on track chasing down Yves, with Peter in 4th and me in 6th. Got by Corey and set off to chase down Yves and Peter, but not before a love tap from Corey in the last turn. Luckily I was able to Tokyo drift it around the corner and all was well :) A braking error by Peter put me into 4th behind Yves. He made a mistake on the back chicanes and i should have passed him, but my left tires got stuck on the wrong side of those giant curbs and I couldn't turn lol. Marty apparently drove straight off a corner (game crashed) which put me in 3rd, still chasing Yves. He made a braking error in the last corner and instead of braking, I watched, which put me wayyy off line and let Peter by. No way was Peter taking 3rd from me and I fought him very hard until he made a small error and let me by. I was trying desperately to catch Yves and finally did on the backstretch of the last lap...where I almost smashed right into the back him. He had run out of fuel :( He had me beat in the last corner..maybe 75yd from the finish, but his car died and I got passed into 2nd.

Race 2: Had an ok start from 7th and got to witness 5 wide on the front stretch lol. Then Keith came from noweher and decided to spin by himself. Ian and I battled for 4th spot all first lap and went side by side nearly the entire lap..nice racing Ian!! Got by him on the last corner and was up to 4th, chasing down Mitchell who was doing an outstanding job! Peter lost it and let us both by, but ended up right on my tail. A braking error by Mitchell let me into 2nd behind Yves. I was catching up to him slowly and I began to think that I might actually be able to win..but then I looked back and saw Keith all over the back of Peter and thought...noooooo! By the time I caught up with Yves, Peter and Keith had caught up to me and it was close racing for lap after lap. Yves' back end got a little wild and let us by, making me the leader with that darn Keith all over me. My 1st was shortlived as I made a braking error and let him through, then I had to deal with Peter..again lol. On lap 10 I made a stupid mistake and Peter passed, but I really really wanted 2nd so I fought him with everything I had left. I got warned twice about my tires getting worn down and I had nearly nothing left. On laps 10 and 11 I followed him and tried to plan something out and starting on the last lap I pushed my little car as fast as it could possibly go. I noticed that Peter's tires were gone too and he was slow on the last chicane so I planned my move for there, eventhough it was a little late. Coming into the last chicane everything worked beautifully and Peter even made a little mistake. We went side by side coming into the last corner and I had to brake early since he had position. In the very last corner, Peter went wide and I threw it into 1st and floored it through the turn, but spun the tires too much and he went on to take 2nd and I 3rd.

Overall I finished 2nd, my 2nd podium! Thank you again to RD and Yves! And well done Mitchell!

-- next time Peter!

Wow what a first race! I was running around doing errands and barely got back in time to do two laps in practice (ran a 2:21.9) which was slower than the previous night practice best of 2:19.8, and straight to qualifiers.

Qual: Not too bad I think. I believe I placed 7th overall with a 2:19.7. My jaw absolutely hit the floor when I saw some of the fast guys - I mean really what kind of special sauce is in your fuel? Amazing.

Race 1: Heart in throat, my hands sweaty like a teenager on his first trip to 2nd base...I launch and was past a few people, but was very timid under brakes in fear of stacking up. The second corner I could see stack-up and slowed only to be rammed up the fart cannon by someone? It actually helped my lap time so I did not sweat it :) I ended up outbraking someone to get to P6 and then made some sort of mistake and got crossed up hitting the wall. Lost two spots back to P8 and was in a comfortable spot all on my own - whew. I was really driving my mirrors a lot and I was simultaneously shaking and sweating LOL. Much to my surprise were people spinning, and dropping out as the tires started heating up and battles were beginning towards the end of the race. I ended up finishing 4th LOL and was laughing as I saw people coasting to a stop. I'd have been pretty ticked off! Towards the half way point I really noticed the tires going off and I was starting to miss my braking points and both ends began to get greasy. Never did go and check what the temps were.

Race 2: It's pretty nice starting P4! I had a decent launch and gained a spot where I kept that for several laps. The P2 guy made a mistake and I had a short lived P2 until later in the race where I began to get sloppy and the tires were going off. Ended up finishing sixth and had an absolute blast for my first race!!! It was pretty nerve racking getting passed on the last freaking lap due to my own mistake of driving my mirrors - grrrrrr hahahaha. Thanks everyone for a fun clean race!

Really strange as I thought even from the replay that you had spun there! (revs go up, moving in the same direction like where you go if you push it too hard)
You were faster, but as I've seen on the replay only in braking zones. In the corner the distance didn't change, and I accelerated a little (very little) better out of corners. And that puts it to the strange category even more, as there I was accelerating, not braking. And really you didn't seem faster. I don't know, maybe it was only that we were too close and/or you expected me to brake there. But I didn't brake, and I think even if you could accelerate out better there you couldn't pass me there as there's not enough room! But clearly you would have had a chance in the last 2 corners, cause there is a braking zone again, not as long though.

Don't know but really really good racing with you Stuart!:) And this event wasn't the first where we had a great battle:)
Yeah, I meant the braking zones rather than the accelerating away :good:

It's probably just the different perspectives of chasing vs leading with you beginning your turn (or as you say me anticipating your turn), but the back of your car suddenly seemed very big and I bailed :D, I changed down rather then slam the brakes, probably the cause for the rev blip. Doesn't matter either way, because it was very enjoyable, as always.

As you say, we've been close before and had some good dicing, and I'm sure we will again. I'm getting to the stage now where I'm seeing the same names a lot of the time during races, and you're generally there. :)

I'm going to map "Hi Peter" on Quickchat soon :D

  • Andrew Evans

Sorry about that Andrew.

Lol, I think i am too old and to big to be intimidated. The only thing that worries me is causing others to crash through bad driving:disapointed:.

mate, nay worries at all - we were fighting for position so you didn't have to give me any room anyway.... i shoulda just chilled and nailed you on the straight... but i'm just an eager little puppy... and eager little puppies spin into the pits :D

Sign me up please :)

Whelp, bad night for me and the Alfa overall. Started off reasonably well - made it into the 2:18s in qual. on a lap that had many mistakes. However this was good enough for P5 and I shut it down halfway through the session to get some practice on (what I thought was) full fuel load.

Race 1: Had a strong start for once and was in P4 heading into turn 1, but I knew it wouldn't last as my Alfa setups are notoriously skittish the first lap and a half. Had a very shaky first lap as a result but stayed out of trouble, and ended up P6 or P7 after the dust settled in lap 2. I started clawing my way back and was in striking distance of a pack that included Yves, Peter and Matt for quite some time. Spent the majority of the race in P6, with a bit of back and forth with Matt as we traded mistakes. Sorry about the little love tap Matt :) - although it worked out OK. After Marty was forced to leave early after his game crash I settled into P5 and cruised until lap 10, when my engine started gasping for fuel :( Stupid mistake - trusted the fuel estimate without calculating - and forced to retire. I think I finished P10.

Race 2: This was a mess from the beginning. Started last due to the DNF in the previous race and all the disconnects. Again had a shaky first lap, but worked my way up a few spots and tried to chase down the mid-pack. Something happened where I think Eric got sideways on a straight somehow (I haven't reviewed my replays yet, so I may be wrong) and I tried to avoid him but ended up hitting him in the door. I don't believe anyone was at fault for it, but I stopped and waiting for him just so we weren't wasting away in P9 and 10 by ourselves. After that we had a few more points of contact and I just was not into the race anymore - made a mental mistake near the last corner, on lap 4, nicked a curb and nosed into the wall. Just decided to call it a night after that. Better luck next week, I suppose.
