RD Rally Championship Season 8 - General Discussion

So judging by the 'wow' rating you gave our posts @Ole Marius Myrvold that the mini isnt a great choice :p

Haha :) Well, you won't win Rally Finland, that I am pretty sure of :p Honestly, I didn't think the 60's cars would be competitive with the 70's cars, but there was no point in splitting them. But I see that "zylytruu" (I haven't learned the real names behind the nicknames yet) managed to beat all the 70's cars in his Alpine on two of the three stages in the last RDRC test event, so I guess everything is possible with the right drivers :)

I love diversity so I think it's awesome to see some "strange" cars, but on paper, you won't win the 2WD- Cup with that car :)

Haha trust me. Me and DJ are gonna spend 90% of the rallies on our roof and in the trees anyway lmao. But the mini is a fun car on tarmac though no guts means it loses easily 20 seconds to the Alpine from what I have found lol

As long as you know what you are doing, I am more than happy to see more different cars in the league ^^, I think it's awesome :)

Quick setup question for you guys. Getting a rather irritating issue at GB and Finland on some jumps, where on landing the front of the car bottoms out slightly, then seems to catapult itself into the air for 100m or more causing me to have no steering.....any tips to calm this down? Max ride height doesnt seem to make a difference

My idea is to balance the absorption of the car to limit the car bottoming out and strengthen the differential (I think it's strengthen) where you'll have at least some straight line stability and can control the car curving post catapulting. Also throttle control and braking helps out a lot, especially when the car makes contact with the ground. Throttle control limits even more the long catapulting, too greedy on the throttle will go faster at the risk of bigger mistakes.

The video I've done (you can see on RaceTube) that might've been attempt #38 because the other ones all I've done is lack of car control or pedal behaviour.

If you recognize yourself here, please tell me - as I cannot find any of these names in the sign-up thread :)

Food for thought....
Will we ever see a RaceDepartment Rallycross Championship??

Could be possible?

Not with DiRT Rally. This was originally my "dream" when it was announced that RX was in the game. But the rather awful way it works online makes it unusable for anything semi-serious.
Did work with another staff trying to get RDRX running with Automobilista, but too few tracks. And the conversions I did from rF, is sub-par graphic-wise.

I guess you could also consider mods on AC aswell, but I'm no expert on modding in AC

They are aware that we want RX multiplayer to feature whole events and as they have been out visiting more RX locations we can safely assume RX will be included with more content next time.

After being tasked with the unfortunate duty of trying to beat a Norwegian in Sweden on the last leg of the previous preseason event, I'm still wondering how certain people can make the Mini Countryman so fast. I've never been able to figure that car out.

Hmm... I was thinking about going with the Delta, but I might have to switch to a Focus since I don't see any others on the sign-up list!

How fast are the AI in this game? Just bought the Fiesta RS Rally, started an elite championship. With an un-upgraded car (250bhp) I managed to win the rally first time out in germany. Just poor AI (though its closer at times in the escort mk2) or a car im better suited to? Decisions decisions....
