I seroiusly dont know how the hell people can control their cars in this game... The ice and sand and everything is just undrivable to me :(
Don't give up! As with anything else, it's all down to practice, practice, practice. Watch the in-game tutorials. Look up some guides on basic rally driving techniques. Then hit the track and practice! You'll start picking it up eventually. I'm still pretty rubbish myself, but I can usually at least get to the finish. Usually...

@Caramidaru Andrei Bogdan Not sure...... a rally track in the UK would be good. think ill have to stick with a chat on skype to try and help you through any issues :roflmao:

on another note, thanks @svt4cam for the league 'test'. Was within 10 sec of that darn T16 in my mk2 escort at route de turini decente...........then the next stage I ran wide and got stuck on a telegraph pole with 2 wheels on edge of track......hit first gear, car moved left 1cm and it retired me from the rally :confused: didnt get a recovery option with where i was parked, but it was sit there or retire.......how kind! Was 4min off lead at that point, but had a slow start getting used to the car and sorting out a setup

Yup, that hurt! But it was good to get an idea of where i stand between classes and overall, and to fine tune the setup a little. The 4 stages between service areas was good too. And now ive got the setup sorted I can make some time earlier on in the stages.

Hi @Ole Marius Myrvold
I´ve had a serius problem with my PC, and actually I don´t know when it will be repared. I´m signed for RDRC (Num.102) .In order to be able to do the first rallyes, I´ve signed up in RDRC League on PS4, and I´ve leaved out the one of RDRC League PC. If you can accept me on PS4,if it´s possible, and would be able to make at least the first rallyes, until my computer will be ok :(
Thanks in advance;)

Yup. No issues in driving some rallies with console and some with PC. But not the same rally with both ;)

I'm only 10hrs into the game, its so frustratingly brilliant, I laugh as my car goes flying off some cliff, of the 36+ 2WD- cars entered I'll be happy with 35th :D

Experience is the main thing.
Yes, partly because plenty of the pace notes kinda suck. (They aren't called pace notes though, of course, but I can't remember the official name...) In particular, a "right 4" early on Pant Mawr (I think it's Pant Mawr anyway) which is more like a 2, and that ridiculous "right 4" at the very last corner of a Greek stage which is either a 1 or a 2 (and if you take it as a 4 you fly). And that's before you even start on the timing - mine are set to "early" which is too late some of the time and way too early at other times. So, sadly, learning the stages makes a huge difference.

I also drive quite a bit quicker with Gr.A cars than R4's. That person is also faster with Gr.A than the 00's. I am far from that :) It's more about finding what you like to drive with, at an acceptable speed.
Seeing from the earlier test events here in RDRC, the Alpine is very close to the 70's cars, so that wouldn't be a bad choice if you know how to drive it (I don't) :)
I think I'll just have to pick a small number of likely cars and a stage or two and try 'em against each other :) (I enjoy the Alpine but not so sure I'm competitive in it!) Am still trying to find the test events btw but perhaps they'll show up once I get the league membership sorted out.

Im not having that issue with my 27 but i am running older drivers as i dont update them.

One proble i am having though is that every time i load up the game i have to remap my controls even though tje wheel does not get unplugged.
(OK I reckon this'll be my final post of the evening ;))
I had exactly that issue with my G27 and it turned out (after much googling) to be because I was mapping the "Pause" command (normally Escape) to a wheel button. Every time I'd start up, back to keyboard+mouse control. Once I stopped mapping Pause to the wheel, no further issues. Bit annoying really but as bugs go it's tolerable I guess.

That greek note have a "caution" along with it, I can't say I've noticed any bad notes on Pant Mawr/Sweet Lamb. I do however know that there is a note missing on a German stage.
Nevertheless, I find the notes to be pretty spot on in all countries except Finland, it is however important to notice every single "caution".

The two test events are finished, there will be one more before the start of the season :)

OK, whoops: it's Pant Mawr reverse, and it's a "right 4 continues over crest" (without any "caution") about 25 seconds into the stage. Amazingly, it seems to catch me out almost every time :S

And indeed there's a caution on that horrid Greek corner (last corner of the Anodou Farmakas/Koryfi Dafni and MAN it's annoying when you've had a good run on the long version of the stage): "caution right 4 don't cut stay mid" but OMG it's so not a 4 :D
I know I'd be firing my co-driver if he survived the crash! (Or would I be blaming myself for writing that note?)

Finland is one of the places where the timing of the notes feels worst for me - before I learned the stages, I was finding myself driving slowly until I could get back into sync with the notes (and then often realising that they were multiple corners further ahead than I thought). I get the same feeling with Sweden. Monte-Carlo on the other hand has mostly pretty good notes, with a few missing/wrong bits that don't actually cause you to crash cos you can see the line.

in general the notes are great, even better would be an editing tool which was present in other rally titles or modded in later. This gave you a chance to make sure you would never ever again make that one stupid mistake we all of us make at various individual points along the way.
One of the most rewarding moments: the first time you outwit the pace notes and remember on your own what you should do at THAT point. For me it's the 90 degree bend with an ambulance parked behind it on one of the finnish stages. heaven knows how often i have killed either the paramedics or my car or both by going full tilt into the poor chaps and their ambulance.

Pacenote editor should be a must in a serious rally sim. And also an option to change the co-driver. I'm still not comfortable with numeric notes, it's hard to distinguish them from distance calls.

So far we have 6 finishers (survivors) of the Unofficial RDRC Monte Carlo practice https://www.dirtgame.com/uk/leagues/league/70006/rdrc-mc-test Nobody has unseated Simmoniti yet although the closest attempt at 4:20 back is a 95 Subie from Group A driven by Rafflestokie. Our finishers board reflects a truly international flavor with drivers from Slovenia, the U.K., Belgium, Norway, United States and Finland. You still have 5 days to test your mettle, embarrass yourself, destroy your freshly painted car and piss off your wife/significant other. Come play! (You know you want to.)
