RTX2080ti performance in VR

Hello guys,

why am I not able to get 100% performance out of my rtx2080ti and i7 9700k when using the Reverb in for example project cars 2?
The GPU performance while playing is between 70 and 80%
CPU performance between 45% and 55%
Unfortunately the FPS is not steady at 90, but it varies between 80 and 90.
Thank you.

That's normal for VR sadly. Unoptimized is the simple word.

You can OC your GPU so that way when it's still between 70%-80% of max, the actual speed it a lot higher and thus better performance.

Do you have motion reprojection enabled? Try to disable.

If it is using standard SteamVR, open up SteamVR Settings, go to Video and turn off motion smoothing. Then it will just skip frames rather than dropping down to a slower frame rate. You can also do that at the application level if you allow it to keep separate profiles for your different games. It allows you to adjust the super sampling on a per title/game basis.

In the case of the Reverb, you may even try dropping super-sampling a bit below 100% since you have a lot of resolution to start with.

Reverb is WMR, good luck finding motion smoothing checkbox. :)
Anyway, if you didn't turn it on in first place, it is disabled by default, it's inside config file for WMR.
And you still need some supersampling or image will be blurry after barrel distortion, perhaps less noticeable with Reverb but still.
