F1 2012 Screwed gear ratios ?

I just went to go and change the gear ratios to some from the setup thread but for some reason the max speed of each gear available to me is lower than the ones suggested in the setup thread.

For example 7th gear I can't go any higher than 327kph whereas other people have there's set to 341kph

Same goes for all the other gears, am I being stupid or is something weird going on ?

You are perhaps using a setup from a different car, as they have different gearboxes I assume.

If it's in career mode, it might also be effected by how far you are along you are with your R&D in your car

Best thing to do is to go to QR, select the car the setup was made for, save the setup, then load it in your career car. The gear positions will be the same but the numbers will be different.
A lot of times peoples gear settings are all the way to the right for max speed when DRS is open.

Wouldn't any mods installed alter this too? For example, some of these performance mods alter the gear ratios making them more realistic I think?
