I concur, was thinking about this exact same thing yesterday too. I vote for pit exit is on the right side of track until T1 where you can defend your position. No swaying of any kind, not even one move.
If i remember correctly, in the 2008 version the inside of T1 is not blocked so you can "cut" the T1 when exiting pits....
EDIT: I was right, the 2008 Monaco has way better pit exit, it extends all the way to the uphill, using the real life cut on T1.. Based on this, and only this info, i would vote for 2008 version. It has much better visual aspect, more visual cues, the curbs are modelled better.. Haven't checked the grip levels yet.
