Reiza Studios have released a small hotfix for Automobilista to address a couple of minor issues introduced as part of a recent build update.

With build 1.3.5 having released back on the 31st March, Reiza have been hard at work attending to several reported issues that have since arisen with the game. Ever quick to respond to community feedback, today the studio deployed a very small patch to the simulation via Steam that resolves a reported crashing issue in Time Trial mode alongside other miscellaneous niggles. Reiza have confirmed they are still looking into the issues reported in TT mode and may release another hotfix later this week if a solution can be found.

Build 1.3.51 Changelog:
  • Fixed potential crash in Time Trial mode
  • Adjusted Setup files UI to display longer file names
  • Corrected cockpit camera clip planes in latest cars to usual standard to minimize texture flickering
  • Lance R: Corrected vehicle gearbox information
  • ARC Camaro: Fixed engine overheating
  • Superkart: Softened default roll bar settings (reducing chassis stiffness)
Automobilista is a PC exclusive racing simulation from Reiza Studios. DLC can be purchased for the game at an additional cost

Remember online racing in a clean environment like RaceDepartment can be a real blast! Check out the events we have scheduled for Automobilista in our AMS Racing Club and Leagues sub forum to get involved in the action yourself. Just went on sale for $14.99 usd. What does this title do better than some of the others?
It feels very complete. Great detailed FFB, great physics, lots of high quality tracks (+ get all Patrick Giranthon's super well made tracks here on RD - there is a pack of so far 20-ish full quality tracks), nice diverse car selecion, just below rF2 AI (good AI that is), night racing, damage with things braking/falling off the cars, good raw sounds (LOVE Reiza for having super quality shifting sounds(!) in all cars. It adds more immersion between the "gear shift silence"), dirt, *jumping* supertrucks that take a lot of practice and skill to drive well but is super fun to try and master, flag system etc etc.

If you are a simmer and love to race there is nothing to think of my friend. They are also making a new sim that is coming later and knowing how good they are already and in the past it just feels right to support them to give us more. :)

Imo the best ffb there is, superb physics and car feeling, some original and interesting cars and tracks, nice community. Works great for me with little to no tinkering. Sound is great, not as good as r3e but above average, its rly detailed like described above- i love starting engine sounds, manual starting was never so much fun

Buy it, play for 90 minutes, and see if you want a refund or not. It's got mods/conversions done with support from the developers, including CART 98 (you need it though only a couple of tracks where converted), which gets around having to license or develop the content but also makes it better than straight conversions elsewhere. Soon we'll have a championship editing tool too.

The downside is it's on an old game engine that is 32-bit and the lifespan isn't long with the next title around the corner. And there is DLC which may keep you from certain online servers (if there are any). But the main thing is you playing for yourself and deciding based on your own opinion.

It will be the best $15 you've invested if you are a true sim racer. Graphics are a little dated, but the feel of the sim will make you forget about that instantly. Since the early days of Game Stock Car this has always had the best FFB of any title out there. Get in, you won't regret a thing.

The grin you get on your face when controlling those 4 wheel drifts to perfection, and that is mainly due to the 720hz physics rate no other sim comes close to currently. People forget that these are games, not "investments". You pay for the emotion and the fun. And AMS offers you tons of it no matter what combination of car/track you try. Community content is just a great bonus.

It is an absolute hoot isn't it.
I just love the way the cars feel in AMS.
Over the largest range, I'd have to say car dynamics feel more natural than in any other sim currently on the market....and that's not to say the others are bad.
This one just does thing a little better right out-of-the-box.
