Breaking news! Kunos Simulazioni are making some Porsches to release as DLC for Assetto Corsa! Probably the best kept secret in the world of sim raci.... wait. I jest of course, but hey, we all like preview shots from the upcoming Porsche Volume One DLC pack now don't we?

That pesky Marco Massarutto has been at it again, dangling the virtual carrot of Porsche to his captivated public. Today Massarutto has revealed yet another image of the beautifully recreated cars from Stuttgart, as development continues on the first fruits of the Assetto Corsa Porsche licence announced back in June.

In his latest post, Massarutto gives us another tantalising peek at seven of the 24 new cars due to enter the game once the three part Porsche DLC packages have been released. Now obviously I don't want to spoil the fun (or more realistically I don't know what they all are), so I'm not going to name the models shown in the opening image, I'll leave that down to you guys to guess...

Back in June, when the official licence was first announced, Marco Massarutto had the following to say:

"I can't describe how proud we are about this partnership with Porsche, and how exciting it is to bring back the Brand in the simracing world. This Fall, Assetto Corsa will be the only multi-platform title to have the Porsche brand in a genuine racing simulation. The gamers, and our fans really want to have the chance to DRIVE the Porsche cars in a realistic manner. it's a privilege, and a big responsibility for us. We are working closely with Porsche with the aim to reproduce each single model with the maximum accuracy, and the fact that the same simulation will be used at Porsche race centres will push our team even more to provide the best Porsche virtual experience ever."

You've probably already seen it, but just for fun, here's that Porsche reveal trailer again...

When the initial announcement was made, Kunos informed fans the first pack would be out for both PC and console this fall. Judging by the ever increasing number of images released, and the quality of those images, its not hard to imagine that the first instalment of this highly anticipated DLC is just around the corner. Stay tuned to RaceDepartment for the official release date as we keep our eye on developments across all three platforms for the game.

Assetto Corsa is available to purchase now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Still waiting for the "Mild Language" in the trailer, unless 505 Games now counts as a swear word :)

If anyone is still in doubt about porsches in AC, no matter what "awful" cars they are gifting you absolutely free of charge, you must be dead from the hands down.

Bring on that RSR, and the 917/30, the big Dick, and everything else. A couple of weeks at most...

Is from the Green "Hell" for the Nordschleife trailer.

Not the 914 :( - I've been in love with that strange bugger since Power and Glory

Always did love that quirky beast (I did mean to update it in P&G, just never got round to it at the time, although I had redone a lot of the interior and textures between working on the newer cars). It was never very popular, but I would love to see it in AC sometime. It has a very unique charm.

I think they will all be fun even the free ones, I think there will be some surprises in the first 7 cars outside of the 917/30 , or Moby Dick or the classic 911 RSR .

Still lots of my favorites missing like the 909 , or 908/30 Spiders & the 959 .

I hope given time the Porsche licence will grow to include most of the Historical cars.
Saying that I hope for the same From Mercedes , BMW & Audi + all the classic marks.
But I think that will probably be a carry over into AC 2 once that gets under way's.

For now I am looking forwards to these DLC addons.

I really do hope this continues after the announced packs, and we will see some more porsches, even if it is just one or two now and again. I`m not going to complain about any of the ones we get, even if they aren`t the ones I would particularly want to drive. The more the better :)

I'd agree with this. It's Porsche in a sim which I cant help but be excited about. None of the Porsche's announced are ones that I was hoping for or likely to complement cars I like but there is always potential for more in the future. I am looking forward to the 718RS, should be a fun little car!

Didn't realise it was going to be 24 cars split into three drops, probably a fiver each? Will likely wait until sale I think. They usually do a bundle after a few months on Steam.
With the release of the first Porsche Pack there will be a Porsche Pass, where you get all 3 packs for a discount.

I just hope they make the 911 R. They have to. Everything you can read, hear etc suggests this is the best Porsche ever...
