F1 2010 Steam users can now pre-load F1 2010

F1 2010 The Game (Codemasters)
I looked at the folders last night and under ai I see catchup.
Is that an xml file, ive checked dirt and dirt2 and both have a catch up xml files
Dirt has individual ones for each difficulty
and Dirt 2 has just one but its 7 times the size of the ones in dirt
which i would assume mean they just put all the difficulties in one file.
Funny thing is that the devs had stated that there is no catchup Ai in this game,
wonder what the file is for.
Anyone got GRID installed as this had very easy to see catch up ,be interesting to compare the files.

Sample tag from catchup.xml for Dirt2:
Code:
config
user name dirt_tour_1_star
R params enabled true
minDistance 50.000000
maxDistance 200.000000
powerAtMinDistance 1.0
powerAtMaxDistance 0.45
minSpeed 12.0
minRaceDistance 500.0
playerCatchup false
useLeadForMaxDistance true
reverseEnabled true
reverseMinDistance 50.000000
reverseMaxDistance 400.000000
reversePowerAtMinDistance 1.0
reversePowerAtMaxDistance 1.2
It's reasonable to assume that for F1 2010 they simply use the settings to disable the "catch-up" behaviour.

Would that mean that catch up(rubber banding) is built into the ego engine(is this usual)
that they need to keep a catchup file to disable catchup,
Would it not be easier to delete the file so it cant made a difference.
If its not in the engine or game why would you need to disable it ,if it doesn't exist.

It probably needs to be in the game for it to run but the settings wont allow the rubber banding to work.
