EA Sports WRC Steering wheel input only 0 or 1 - shaking - CSL DD

Steering input in the game only goes from 0 to 1, not matching the CSL DD wheel input. The wheel is violently shaking. Minimal CSL DD input causes a full game steering rotation. The wheel in the game bounces from left to right, which causes shaking.

I've tried different settings and cars. Nothing helps.
I've also tried different wheel rotation angles, Auto, 360, 540deg. It makes no difference. The steering and CSL DD work appropriately in other games like F1 and Dirt 2.0.

Does anyone have a similar problem? Any clues?
