F1 2017 Unexpected crash

Carreer, racing in Sochi with Toro Rosso, 14° lap, suddenly something like a explosion getting me out of track and crushing to the wall, nothing to do with flashback. So I started the race from beginning once more and the same happened at same lap. I have to say that my enginneer told me in the first laps to be careful because the engine was overheated.

Never had such experience in last years playing F1. Never had DNF .

So what is changed in 2017? Can my engine crash ?

And what can I do to avoid such issue in next races?

Yes this year, if an engine part fails you will get the same dark screen that comes up when you crash and have terminal damage.

Use the laptop and MFD panel to keep an eye on the wear of your different engine components, and you will have to swap them in for new ones once they get too worn
