VPS QUESTION

Hey guys
I run my own league and have a problem.
We use a VPS to run our server and I was wondering if I had to now buy a fresh copy of Automobilista for it, seeing as it's now a Steam download?
In the past, we used only the dedicated server of GSC (Of course), which was a non-Steam download so was easy.
I have written to Renato and asked, but no reply as yet.
The only way I can think of is to log out of my Steam account on my PC and log in with my user name on the server. Download the game and then log out again seeing as we only use the dedicated server, To update....I log in every now and again on Steam and do the update.
Think this would work?

Tools/programs on Steam can be configured to not require Steam to be running, Controller Companion does that for me at least. So should technically be possible to just install it via Steam and only start Steam to update the server, if the Reiza guys configure it that way
