GT5 Warning

I spent over 8 hours last night doing the extream formula gt races 6 off races that ends with sazuka.
I get to the final race with 500 points and during the loading the game freezes,
I waited for over a hour for it to load as i didnt want to quit due to the fact i know it dont save midway.
I ended up quiting the game to find the server had gone into maintenence.
So thats over 8 hours of my time waisted im realy realy pissed off after this load of crap.
So just be aware if theres any maintenece before you start on a long duration race as it will screw you.

It might have helped if you had disconnected the network cable from the ps3...?

You can't save races half way though a championship can you like in older gt games. Or am I missing it.
