The product of a very visible shift in marketing strategies by new owners Liberty Media, Formula One took to the streets of London today on a specially designed circuit at Trafalgar Square.
Bringing Grand Prix cars to the streets of London for the first time since 2004, 'F1 Live' has proven to be a resounding success with the British public, and reaffirmed the public desire to see the world's fastest open wheel racing cars up close and personal.
The event, where Formula One have created a special closed public road circuit around some of London's most iconic buildings, has been made possible by a recent change in law in the UK that finally makes racing and competition realistically possible again on closed public highway.
Designed specifically to promote the sport and upcoming British Grand Prix, the event has proven to be a resounding success with fans as Liberty Media and the Formula One group showcased some iconic cars from the history of the sport.
